  1. FFXI Vet here, the references hit hard. The area you load into is main 'endgame' hub town but in where you start is known as Dynamis (yes) – Jeuno. 2nd area is the Boyoda Tree and within it is the Aery where you would fight a major world boss Nidhog or in this case Fafnir. On the path you see NPC's in background behaving like XI players do, if they see you fighting a mob and not getting murdered by it, "you're on your own" and just leave. Otherwise if we see you struggling, it means you'll either die or "call for help" in which players would get mad if you did that for a notorious monster – which usually drop high value loot. By calling for help – you effectively made nobody able to get the drop until next time the mob spawns which could take hours or days. The Darters (flies) that spawn during Fafnir also problematic in XI. 3rd Area is Ru Aun Gardens in which the path getting to the Archangel area is correct along with the mobs and NM that spawn along way. Last area is Castle Zhaval Bailey's. Shadow Lord is the base XI game boss much like Gaius/Ultima/Lahabrea is for ARR. The 'victory' music you heard is the Vana'diel March – the title screen song of XI.

  2. Should be noted, this is the LFR (full matchmaking) version of FFXIV. Usually Field Operation content is harder than the A Raid, so this may mean those wont be a breeze either (atleast until eventually the average ff14 player start mastering all the fights, like it always happen)

  3. This raid was so fun but it took the group I was with an hour and two or three people in all three groups had to leave before the end, haha. We wiped like 4 times, I think? It was challenging af but really rewarding. Also, love the part where Bakool Ja Ja goes, "Why only you?!" Sorry, we have WOL status, lmao!

  4. Just did this raid today. We beat the Shadowlord with maybe 10 minutes left on the timer. We wiped so many times on him and the council fight before. I'm not looking forward to doing it next week! 🫣
