Remove Dark Arts from TBN. Dark Arts is now 3 stacks, 1 stack gained from Souleater/Aoe Combo. Each stack of Dark Arts allows you to use 1 Abyssal Drain as a ranged OGCD.
I personally would like if oblation, Dark mind and TBN gave dark arts. But when you receive dark arts, it gives you free access to a blood spiller, carve and spit (hopefully with a heal) or flood. Hell make enhanced unmend upgrade shadowstrude to plunge
if you think these ideas are boring/uncreative, its because when you have a platform and are making suggestions like this, simple is better, because complex/interesting/intricate will literally never happen.
its easier to understand and the more complicated/intricate you make your suggestions, the easier they are to take issue with and the less likely they are to get any traction. are these the best changes? no. could they be more creative? absolutely. would squeenix ever actually do any of those creative ideas? lolno.
when you suggest changes/reworks, you have to base it around things that have a snowball's chance on the sun of being implemented by the devs, otherwise you're just theory-balling. that doesn't mean the theory-balling ideas wouldn't be way better/more fun, its just that they'll never happen.
Instead of adding excog to tbn it would be more interesting if instead of giving you free edge of shadow it would make it so your next weapon skill or spell heals you for x2 potency per target hit
I LOVE the idea of giving Salted Earth a regen while you're inside the puddle. Also separating Abyssal Drain from C&S, and while we're at it, give both of those stacking charges. From there, just need to reduce MP cost on all three consumers down to 2000 and DRK will be in a very solid place.
And yes, change that run animation. You never run with your sword pointed forward. One stumble and you impale yourself on the pommel.
With all the changes that you said, they need add new skill called overshadow:- That skill drain 50% hp but give buff 25% damage for 30 sec.
Whacky idea: Make Abyssal Drain a GCD with no cooldown that costs 2000 MP.

An easy change they could do with TBN is make it proc either when you ''die'', or at the end of the timer, it would pretty much fix any instance of using it
If DRK does get a rework, I wonder if it will be a DRG/NIN style rework or a MNK/SMN style rework.
HW DRK was interesting. There was so much to manage, you could feel like a god gamer for (checks notes) holding threat in a dungeon. Then you swap to WAR and do more damage for nothing but some stance dancing. What a time to be alive.

I really don't think we should give tanks more excogs than scholar. Scholar gets one every 45s at an aetherflow or recitation cost.
He's right, this probably should all happen if square is taking tanking this direction, but they shouldn't have taken tanking this direction.
I personally would remove a charge from Oblation, but also bring back Shadow Skin and make that the DRK Bloodwhetting equivalent. Sole Survivor can be one of the extra effects in SW. I would also just get rid of Dark Mind, or make that upgrade into Oblation with the 15% damage reduction and regen. But a lot of the changes you have listed are some I would add too.
Edit: I meant Shadow Skin, not Shadow Wall. Too many shadows!
My fix for DRK this expansion until they can do a proper rework:
-add 2 more stacks of Blood Weapon, this pretty much puts DRK back to ShB/EW DRK.
-add a heal if TBN expires before the shield breaks, the full percentage of the shield made, or the remainder plus some healing potency(don’t increase recast seconds, this is DRK’s Clemency, unless you think they should change Clem as well)
-Change Oblation to 15% mit.
– Split C&S and Abyssal Drain, increase Abyssal Drains potency to 400, and give us two stacks of it and maybe reduce it’s CD to 30sec.
I think it would be cool if TBN had like an eight or seven second counter attack of x amount of potency that healed for the damage done. I think it fits the job fantasy of getting hit, taking damage, but immediately clapping back and stealing their life force.
Im indifferent towards this, its some good ideas but adding complications to make a class interesting is not
the way to go. After all keep it simple stupid. DRK has always followed this but yes it needs a big change.
Bring back Dark arts but rework into current.
How to Actually Fix Dark Knight –
1. Add 2nd Combo Finisher that buffs the heal on Souleater
2. Make Abyssal Drain a short Cast with an MP cost – remove from C&S cooldown
3. Stalwart Soul grants a buff that allows a Free/instant Abyssal Drain use
4. Make TBN last longer, grant a high potency regen when it expires or breaks
5. Dark Missionary level 70
6. Consolidate Edge and Flood of Shadow, reduce MP cost to increase usages
7. Standing inside of Salted Earth grants a buff that increases healing received. Activating Salt and Darkness consumes this buff, dealing damage and giving a heal
(Dungeon Pull value if pack dies before it expires, add phases, etc.)
8. Oblation also grants the Vigilant effect from Shadowed Vigil
9. Living Dead rework: Grants Living Dead for 15s. Living Dead sets your HP to 1
Prevents the restoration of HP from any source other than Living Dead, makes you invulnerable to most attacks.
All Weaponskills executed successfully under the effect of Living Dead restore HP
If you reach Max HP during this window, you are granted the effect of Undead Rebirth, replacing Living Dead, for whatever the remaining duration of Living Dead would’ve been
Undead Rebirth grants a mild regen and a reduction to damage taken for the remainder of Undead Rebirth’s duration.
If you do not reach max HP during this window, you are KO’d. Basically a 15s Self-Inflicted Max-HP Doom timer that only you can fix. Forces player skill and keeps the identity of Absorbs/Undying

Power Slash was one of the coolest looking animations. Drks current soul eater combo looks so gd bland hard slash and siphon slash are practically the same fucking animation just backwards
A 2nd GCD combo branch could be an idea! I was thinking that DRK could apply Bleeding to the enemy, and the DRK could heal for a portion of the damage dealt. Maybe 1 branch applies the DoT, the other is higher potency OR removes the DoT to heal instantly but is weaker dps option. Make Bleed ticks able to crit. Maybe crits (on other sources) can apply a bleed or extend the bleed.
This is how xeno would make drk trash, or another braindead pally or warrior clone. This is why warrior mains shouldnt talk about things they dont understand. I hope this doesnt get any traction because this is garbage. Not every class needs or wants to be as boring to play as warrior. Put a regen effect upon the expiration of oblation. Add another 60 second ogcd leech skill (Or a second charge of abyssal drain) and put carve and spit on its own CD timer. Add two low potency ogcds to fill the huge hole left behind by taking plunge. Add gage cost back onto living shadow. Add a lifesteal effect to 2-3 gcds after getting hit with magic damage when the drk has dark mind on. Leave TBN alone, and leave Living dead alone. There, that's drk fixed. It will feel amazing to play, back to its busy status, and have a touch more sustain without losing its identity. And it won't be as bad as pally or war.
Fuckit, bring back Dark Arts and sod those babies memeing on DA spam. We're already spamming Edges in the burst windows anyway
High copium the devs will see this 🙏 Hope they can get animation references from the Berserk Wolf mod as well, still THE best Drk mod imo
I think TBN should also give a 15% mit for the first 4 seconds, like Corundum, Bloodwhetting, and Holy Sheltron. Would make it really strong, especially if it didn't cost mana and the shield breaking wasn't so important/annoying.
Give DRK Excog…. You know they did give us that right?

What if we just throw out living dead entirely and make the shadow the invuln. When the shadow is summoned, it provokes the ads or boss that had enmity in the DRK and is invincible for 10 seconds. The DRK can still be healed and can move freely during this time.
