  1. I never thought that this channel will talk about Zoroastrianism at all! But this is indeed a goodchange of topic, so it is a welcoming change! Not to mention some talks about Final Fantasy too! So this video is quite nice, great and interesting! Maybe I should suggest those who do videos about the Abrahamic religions to incorporate the anime such as High School DxD and My Hero Academia into their story as well!

  2. The first time I heard about this Zoroastrism religion was actually from the Rome Total War game from 2006 when you invade the Persian kingdom.

Also, is Kurdish "Newroz" based on Zoroastrism? I think the Kurds have their own religion and they don't follow Islam that much or really play a big role in Kurdish culture.

  3. Wow! That was a really interesting episode. I'm not a fan of video games but I can clearly see the connection between Zoroastrianism and Judeo-Christian ideas. Also, could the Persian daevas be the origin of the English word "devil"? because they sound similar.

  4. DUUUUUDE.
As a young iranian, that was taught about cyrus and dariush and the druj.
In Iran, that symbol is called faravahar.

Fravardin is also the first month of the year in persian calendar (Solar Hijri calendar), but also means "guardian spirit".

Also also! Notice how Fravardin/Farvardin is VERY SIMILAR to Frashokereti.

IT IS ALL CONNECTED!!!!!! This is TOTALLY mind blowing!

Also Ahura and Indra is also referenced in Naruto.
Holy shiet… It is insane how much media is borrowing Zoroastrianism.

  5. This felt more like a "how do you do fellow kids, let me tell you about my religion" instead of a let's use religious artifacts to predict the future of the series.

Here's what I got from your video.

All powerful entity of light and darkness fight.
All powerful entities create avatars to fight for them
Something something magic in the air/we are one with everything.
Evil falls and everyone lives happily ever after.
    Something something Endwalker!!!

  8. I would offer some corrections on the stuff on Zodiark. As per Ere our curtain falls and the scenes in Seat of Sacrifice, as well as the Hythlodaeus and Anamnesis Anyder scenes, the Convocation, though initially divided on the matter, had a final planned stage of sacrifice to return those who originally gave their lives to summon Zodiark and halt the Final Days. Up to that point it was 50% of the surviving population went into Zodiark, and then 50% of whatever was left to provide him the aether he needed to restore the star. It is the decision, after he had saved it, to sacrifice a portion of unspecified new life to restore the sacrificed ancients that divided their society (although by the time Venat implemented her insurrection, only a minority shared her views.) Some people interpret this as Zodiark requiring constant sacrifices, but it's not really supported by current lore.

Hydaelyn's group of summoners disagreed regarding the sacrifices, but under the pretext of unspecified claims about Zodiark not being a "permanent" solution. This led to that conflict and ultimately the sundering of the world. Her group's fears mirror the paranoia about Zodiark in FF12. Worth stressing that in XIV, dark is not "evil" and light not "good" – they just represent pure polarities of the elements. Zodiark repaired the star's natural functions, so it's unclear how that will be affected if he is destroyed.
