  1. At first I thought your side CHOOSE to punish the evil woman at the end by allowing her to be a maid.
But no it was supposed to be some kind of high level love between 2 souls with regret or something.
But if it is some high level love, why the character on your side all make funny faces?
What is going on???? To this date I still have no clue what TF was that?
EDIT : Reminds me of how the recent wonder women did to that innocent men o.O

  2. Magni's not mock-worthy because he got turned down and taunted as a 'little sun.' He's a joke because he's an incarnation of the lie of "alpha-ness." He is a caricature of himself…and thus is a meme.

  3. So as someone who finished the main story Of Stormblood I see it as a more refined version of ARR in the sense where it has a lot of those sluggish moments with the MSQ but it has a better idea of where to focus that kind of thing narratively however just the fact that there are moments of sluggish pacing is still an issue

  4. I'm with Bellular where Lyse is concerned. Her character was failed by the writing and pacing more than anything she herself actually does. A number of beats that would've helped her character were instead given to Raubahn like talking down the mobs who wanted to execute Fordola. Hers is a story of wasted potential. It doesn't help that after Ala Mihgo she basically gets reset so they can tell the same story twice. She got reduced to a side character during what was supposed to be her biggest arc. Imagine if Estinien just kind of hung around the edges of the story until the very end? It just kind of sucks that she's written as a character designed to grow from where she starts only to get left there and never get screentime.

  5. I love how people love nothing characters like Lyse and Minfilia, but hate Zenos for being "boring." I remember Zenos more than Lyse after I finished Stormblood. I only remembered her at the end and that's when Zenos left the story and she "physically" showed up and took up his last scene. Stormblood is only memorable because of Zenos. Delete Lyse and destroy the namazu.

    I'll be Magnai's rolanberry.

  6. I liked Stormblood. I really enjoyed the aspect of the new zones being lands that start out as conquered by our enemies, then freed by us. It gives the player a permanent "win" in the story, that is truly worthy of the npc praise they always shower on our avatars.

  7. i'm in 4.4. right now. i might actually prefer stormblood over heavensward.
the episode four part did make me chuckle in a dramatic situation though. it was also pretty obvious what they were doing with the two villains. it made care a lot by the end. the mystery in 4.4. has got me hooked.
my favourite parts were probaby in the azim steppe. i can't get enough of sadu.
almost all gameplay aspects massively improved again, just like they did from ARR to HW before. the only part i didn't enjoy was getting all the aether currents in the lochs.

  8. For me, Stormblood MSQ didn't hold my interest as much as the other expansions did. At least the Ala Mhigo parts didn't. I enjoyed the Azim Steppe and Doma parts. I actually took a break from FFXIV for about a year, mid-expansion when the MSQ returned to Ala Mhigo. I only came back to finish the Stormblood MSQ for Shadowbringers expansion.

  9. The problem with Stormblood is that you don't even get to go to the first dungeon until you've already headed to the Far East, which seems like an age after the opening bit in the Fringes. Just when you start to get invested into one area, you just get pulled towards Doma instead, and I never really understood the narrative reason for that.

So…your plan to liberate Gyr Abania…is to leave Gyr Abania. Take a trip across the sea to an area facing similar problems, and then liberating that place instead so that you get some allies. Of course, this makes sense when you know that there's a massive army of Xaela that can help you free Doma, but you and the party don't know that. There's no indication that you'd be any more successful in the Far East than you were in Gyr Abania.

As far as Lyse is concerned, I've already had my own ideas of how to handle her and my thoughts that a lot of her narrative potential was sort of handed off to Raubahn. I think she could have been used to more clearly illustrate the Primal threat if they had the balls to Temper her when Lakshmi gets summoned in Ala Mhigo during 4.1. Ga Bu was cute and all, but I really felt that the search for a cure for Tempering needed a bit more personal motivation by the party, and Lyse could have been a great person to use for that since they seem to have run out of stuff for her.

  10. Saying that Magnai "Shot his shot" isn't really a valid rebuttal imho. Because it's real easy to "Shoot your shot" when you think you're god's gift to the world and women. Which is part of the reason why he keeps getting shot down.

I will say though, he never lets it get to him and keeps on trying, who knows maybe some day he'll find his Nhaama. More than likely, there were some women among the innumerable Warriors of Light he never gave a second look, that would probably buy what he's selling. But ah… that's the joke with him isn't it?
