Thinking Of Trying Final Fantasy 14?

Thinking Of Trying Final Fantasy 14? – A new player’s perspective.

I’ve been playing Final Fantasy 14 since 2020, and back then I never knew that IT would be the game to rekindle my love for MMO’s. Though I don’t have the time to dedicate to them like I did during my days on World of Warcraft, I feel that FF14 strikes a delicate balance, catering to both the casual fanbase and the hardcore.

But there’s just something special about this game. Up until FF14, I had tried a fair number of MMO’s to replace the passion I lost since Wrath of the Lich King. I tried Guild Wars 2, Rift, Aion, Tera, I went back to WoW. None of them struck a chord with me, and I was close to just forgetting about MMO’s entirely. I almost gave up, until I thought of trying out Final Fantasy 14.

This game has everything that I could ever want in an MMO experience, and more. And I hope that, if you’re thinking about trying Final Fantasy 14 yourself, that this video might give you the nudge you need to jump in.

  1. level 1 to end game is a very, very long slog in this game. i think that's what turns me off. plus how annoying it is to learn flying as you go.

  2. I really like the free trail that they have out now so I can try it and see if it’s for me instead of wows free trail the only gets you to 20 which sadly your best skills don’t should up till closer to 40

  3. always had a high opinion about the FF14 team, i really must play the expansions, i only played up until the end of realm reborn, but this year i will binge through until endwalker 😉
big FF fan, played every single player FF game multible times, FF6-10 belong to the best games i have ever expirienced, after Sakaguchi left, FF turned the wrong way, Yoshida i think puts it back on track (16 also looks amazing)

  4. The game is extremely complex. I played during Heavensward but I made the mistake of skipping the story by not paying attention. I remember the ARR’s final half of MSQ to be extremely long, has this changed? Should I boost a character? Queueing for older content is a nightmare. Also, I cannot find a comprehensive retelling of the whole story on YouTube. I would like to jump ahead and prepare for the next expansion. How does the New Game Plus work? Thaaanks.

  5. I desperately want a graphical overhaul for FFXIV. The game still looks good but its visuals are noticeably outdated. I’m not looking for something akin to BDO or Ashes of Creation, I just wish the devs would up the graphical fidelity in 2021 :p The game is how old now?

  6. I been playing 14 sense 2.0. I stopped playing for a year, almost sold my account. I logged in to get an idea of all my ingame assets and just like that I'm playing again lol. I was nuts for even thinking about quitting ffxiv.

  7. I tried FF14 2 times and for some reason I never got past 25-28, Idk why but that GCD, color palet of the world and almost zero voice acting on all quests just bores me down, which is unfortunate cause I did hear u have to get into later levels until game picks up, but I just get bored really fast, cant bring myself to go further:D maybe third time the charm I try force myself to go at least to higher levels

  8. I have been playing FFXIV for the past 3 weeks after finally giving up hope on WOW…. I'm happy to say that I'm not going back to WOW anytime soon or in the near future.

  9. I just jumped back into FFXIV a while ago and hoo boy, are there so many people around the starter areas now.. I'm really glad there are more and more people coming to this game.

Now I just need to convince my friends to play this game too…

  10. One major correction: this game DOES NOT teach you how to play your job properly AT ALL. That is one of the biggest misconceptions about this game, and I hate seeing it barfed out as fact when it isn't. It's an absolute shit fest that not only doesn't teach you how to play your job properly, it doesn't teach each role how to play properly. Which causes to endgame tensions for people who do and don't give a shit, resulting in the disgusting community we have and like to pretend we don't have.

  11. Awesome video dude! You have nearly all the same views of this game as me! It makes me so happy to see new players giving this a go. This was one of my first MMO experiences and I have been so addicted ever since getting past ARR 😀

  12. My first test of combat, clearly the most important part of any MMO, is a pure kiting class. If this is smooth, typically the combat system is responsive and smooth. Combat is very smooth in this game and kiting is great. The game is good

  13. As someone who has never played a single mmo simply because I was intimidated by them as they seemed super complicated and had large learning curves to them. Would this game be a good starting point for the genre and for a new player who only knows a little bit of mmos?

  14. I played when ARR first launched on ps4. Literally was at gamestop when they opened to pickup my pre-order, and received my Cait sith in game pet after a lengthy time trying to figure out how to even create my account.

Enjoyed it from the rip, got my archer to 30, unlocked my BRD and then maxed.

Raided coils, killed twintania. And got my bis.. put the game down for a bit, and then BAM heavensward.. Jesus did I get hooked again, maxed my BRD did FCOB and then once again put it down.

Well recently I got the itch, currently downloading it on PC this go around, and ready to relearn Eorzea, and maybe a different job. Haven't even touched shadowbringers.. Super excited though!

  15. I'm glad you found a helpful NN, not every server has a good Novice Network. I remember moving from Coeurl to Siren more recently, NN went from good to awful from the change.

it's definitely mixed how good the NN is, however people are still generally very helpful and nice outside it.

  16. If I buy the biggest FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE COMPLETE EDITION or whatever the biggest pack/bundle is called – or I try out the free version – I still play the same "road" to Heavensward? So in the beginning it doesn't matter if I buy it or play the free to play version?

  17. I guess I'm fcked then. I've tried playing but never liked any FF games and now I'm thinking of leaving WoW for good but people are saying that this is the only MMO game thats worth checking. I'll still give it a shot, at least I can try it for free.

  19. I urge anyone to watch the noclip documentary for FFXIV (all three parts) if you ever want to get a good grasp at how much the devs love and care for this game, even for 1.0. Something that you mentioned in this video about the cancer reveal that Soken did, there was a line that Yoshida said that was a callback to something he talked about in that documentary as well when Soken was the only one stepped up and encouraged him when he took over the XIV dev team.
