  1. I am glad to learn more about the pros of playing the critically acclaimed mmorpg final fantasy xiv that has a free trial up to level 60 including the heavensward expansion—

  2. GW2 version of scaling is about as trash as WoWs, it forces you into the scaling whether you want it or not. while XIV you can opt in to the scaling if you desire or you dont if you just want to run old primals and curb stomp them for mass mount farm sessions. scaling is a fantastic thing if you can opt in or out of it, forced scaling just wastes player time.

  3. the issue with proving grounds is that it didnt prove anything, Blizzard went with one size fits all scenarios, and didnt tailor them enough to test peoples skill. some PGs were brain dead simple to get silver while others were far more rough. with XIV and its novice challenges, they are more tailored to the roles, as a tank you get basic tank tactics but at the same time, the NPC directs you in what your specific job can do. If you are a Paladin, they tell you which paladin skills to use, if you are Dark Knight, they tell you which dark knight skills to use, instead of generic directions like "put on tank stance. if you are a PLD, they say "put on Iron Will" which is for Paladins. Blizzard would never invest in something like that, its easier to slap one size fits all than put effort in teach players anything.

  4. I would try out wow again if there was player housing in form of an estate where you have maybe 4 plots of land and a house, you can either make a bigger house or have a vineyard, a stable or a smithy etc. And ofcourse some control over furniture placement within the house.

  5. Classes should have tutorial missions and class representatives who are important to the story who do these tutorials with you. Like why isn't mathias Shaw the rogue mentor?
And IF they star lt anew after shadowlands they will have thrown their established IP in the garbage.

  6. Proving grounds were stupid and unbalanced. I could fly through them on one class while never being able to complete them on another, and worst of all, they included mechanics that weren't ever seen in raids of that expac. They weren't tutorials because they didn't teach, they just gatekept the content. The difference with the FFXIV tutorials is that they are actual tutorials. And also optional, but with a nice incentive.

  7. i can tell you 1 thing, the FF14 end game sucks compared to wow's. the mechanics are far more engaging and imaginative. FF14 raid mechanics are the same 3 mechanics repeated and to make it harder they just layer more and more of them on top of each other.

  8. many months on now… the end of this video is nearly verbatim what my friends and i have discussed when talking about what to DO about WoW. my friend's suggestion, and i love her for it; let Sylvanas win, get the sigils, whatever, and make a new, more fair universe to give the game the exact ARR-level reboot that you're talking about.

sadly probably never something that's going to happen… as it seems like, even absent all this controversy and the impending lawsuit and blizzard's failed attempts to stop it… they simply lack the political will, so to speak, to make ANY real changes in a player-focused way, and have for years and years. it's pitiful to see.

  9. Honestly, at the current time 3 months after this video came out, the answer is honestly everything. The only thing WoW has left that can even remotely be considered better is pvp, but that is such a non-factor in both games that it's like being the best flavor of tap water.
