  1. Yeah they really planned for you to not trust Hydaelyn given how little she's spoken to you and how she straight up lied in ARR, so you go into EW thinking she might be evil and then you get to Elpis and it makes you feel bad for ever doubting her

  2. All the Gundam references get a bit heartbreaking because like, two years ago the guy that did the Dad of Light series in Japan and became close friends with Yoshi-P through that passed away from cancer, and they were both massive Gundam fans. Yoshi-P bought a Nu Gundam gunpla for his friend to build while he was battling cancer and his friend never got around to it.

  3. About why Emet has the same face, he straight up mentions that Ascians can chose to use their creation magics to change how they look. So whenever he first inhabited Solus's body he just changed his face.

  4. 1:21:15 She actually does have a battle rez, but she can obviously only use it on NPCs.
I really like the system though. Sure it's more "punishing" but in exchange, you don't have to deal with other people possibly messing up and it's easier to adapt to the mechanics after seeing the NPCs kid glove it.

  5. calling the last dungeon “Final Fantasy Remnants” is definitely too on the nose for my tastes but i appreciate the wordplay in the original title, which can alternatively be interpreted as something like “Apparitions of the End: Remnants”. i stand by “The Dead Ends” being a really raw way to localize it though, especially given the subject matter and themes of Ultima Thule and the dungeon itself

  6. Another fun fact about the end with Zenos there. They wrote it in a way so you can believe he's the one that ended up saving you from bleeding out unconscious in Ultima Thule at the end if you want to. Urianger has a line in some optional dialogue if you talk to him again in that last round of conversations he mentions that some strong emotions must have brought that transporter button back to you via Dynamis after it blew away vs the Endsinger. And I'd personally like to believe that of all the things you could call Zenos, a sore loser isn't one of them.

  7. Emperor Varis closest moment to getting a treated well was as a memory ghost in the EX version of his forced trust fight setting up Bozja.
Which you only really did to get dyable gear…which apparently is no longer the case.
I hate to insult your intelligence but it was obvious that sharlayan was doing the 2nd you read NOAHS ARC and honestly it was still obvious before that when you say inside this massive underground dome they are filling with random stuff from around the world you can conviently can live in.

I always saw answers as the near death of eorzea song.

Very happy Venat turned out the way she did. Because she's named after the ff12 character(I'm hyper butthurt by the gigaboots take on that game) and her role is basically identical. This rogue agent of these higher beings who's seen as a problem who's goal was the freedom/salvation of humanity.
I picked Ali because I hoped shed get on with it and just confess her massive crush on you.
Zenos, the man above the high minded jrpg matrix reloaded pretensious anime villains. He was perfect and I'm happy they didn't have to idiots and "fixed" him.
I was hoping wedge(or was it bigs) would confess to tataru.

I'm glad I got to bitch slap ilbard again. Slopay.
While I wish Yotsuyu showed up, I don't despise the brother showing up.

I never used the trust once. I kinda don't see the point in playing with ai ran teammates.
The team dying, they knew about the rezzing crystal but ya they acted….weird.

I didn't love the final walk because….well….Voice actors from ARR were replaced and some characters havnt spoken since HW. And they don't put names next to them so I'm like "guys….I don't remember every line of dialogue in this game…..wtf" .

The LB's are technically described as dynamis in the PvP and bozja area if I remember correctly.

I'm so happy I got my big dumb metal gear 1v1 with Zenos and that I was a human sized character, without a dumb helmet on, and said "FUCK IT, YES I DO ENJOY THESE FIGHTS" and the guitar riff kicks in. Zenos audibly gets turned on, the manual Drk weapon pull out and the smirk. God. We peaked. Turn off the servers XD.

    Nah. We'll abandon ps4 2 expansions later. People still don't have ps5s.

I straight up tell people stormblood is better than HW and people are too stupid to understand good character writing. It was my favorite. ShB is perfectly made but I wanted to punch emet in the face for his high minded foppy gay Brit genius bit. And the constant feeling of "Jesus I want to go home and save my people, stop telling me that doesn't matter cause you want to talk about gods and their how their choices are too 5head for us mortals :/
Well written perfectly made but Jesus I just left an expansion that was ANTI this.
But EW fixed those issues by not rushing forward and telling me to care about an asshole who had 1 second of likeability.

  8. Iirc the way the Job Crystals in lore work is that it works like a storage device of the memories and techniques of all who use it, but it can't just transfer that stuff to the people who use it. So, if they wanted to have a cut off point between 14 and 14-2, the last patch could have the job crystals you've gained destroyed, and the WoL go into retirement. That way they have an explanation of why the WoL doesn't just roll over the new expansion because they have to start over/have some new character start out as the new WoL.

  9. Just to clarify something at around 46:00.

The dungeon you go into at Thavnir once all the Final Days stuff happens before the stuff happens at Raz-ad-han, and that's what leads into you going into the second part of the area.

And that dungeon is particularly kinda fucked up because you see a mother transform in from of her three kids, which in turn causes them to transform too, and we have to put them down.

Also, while this is something for Kzxcellent in particular since I saw his streams, this might be something useful for anyone else who plays on the PS4/5 controller:

Any D-Pad inputs will also count towards the Active Time Maneuver moments along with you face buttons.

It definitely saved me during the 5.3 trial.

  10. im like an hour into the video so you might go back to it but im surprised you didn't mention the multiple counts of actual on-screen children turning into blasphemies and then getting murdered scenes

like a child gets turned into a small gremlin creature and the tusk monster straight up crushes it

  11. I do think that the new story will just like in ARR start of really really slow with minor events that will build up over time to bigger things. You can't really throw us into something huge right away after what we just got, we have to start out small to set up before we get thrown into the bigger premise that will be the new story arc.

We went to the far edge of the universe clearly they aren't gonna top that in terms of scale so i expect a much smaller scale at first than over time build up into another epic adventure. After Endwalker like Krile said we need some time to settle down….cause from here on out it's an entirely different story now. It does mean that as the WoL (if we are even called that now since Hydaelyn is gone) will we be weaker since we no longer have the echo or the blessing of light?

  12. My favorite thing about the state of Fordola haters is that since the narrative has pretty much outright stated that she has done enough to be trusted as an ally that the issue literally has to be just that she has an attitude problem lol.

  13. About Emet having the same face, he explains it when you first meet him in the Crystarium. He said that he took the body from someone and molded it to his preference. Creation magick is OP.

  14. Going into the Role Quests, They actually have a relatively huge importance to the story, even though they aren't "Important" to finish them. For example, the tank quest shows you the usually infallible Kan-E used to be a delinquent. The overall story is about acceptance of help, and understanding you won't be alone. She bemoans her lack of strength to press on, but her Twin Serpent guard, the Imperial she saved from Cartenaeu, basically forces her to rest, and to accept that she isn't infallible, and together, they, and you their tank friend, can save everyone, from a monster born of a man who had everything taken from him by the beings he venerated above all.

For Healers, yes you deal with Fordola, but it's because Arenvald is taking her imitative and becoming a different kind of hero. The overall narrative of this one is that, yes, people in war do things. Horrible things. But they do it because they can't think of another choice. Fordola saw the Empire, and how she lived with the entire thing all her life, being caught in the middle and suffering at the hands of both Ala Mhigans and Garleans. The main concept of Arenvald's work is to heal the wounds caused by the all-but-in-name Civil War. The Alamhigans who chose to live under Imperial rule, and those who suffered under that rule, both were wronged by the war. The Ala Mhigans who sided with Garleans, like Fordola, were abused by both sides, and the only choice they had was the only one that had proven track records (At the start of Gyr Abanian occupation, Gaius was in charge of the land, and he was a well known philanthropist, making orphanages and promoting meritocracy to the point that one of his right hand men was a foreigner), rather than the resistance method which kept failing until the Warrior of Light showed up. The story goes on to further redeem Fordola, who by the Tales from the Storm side story we know had been hunting Primals with Arenvald and during the lv80 SMN quest where she shows up to the training day to go over plans to go make more people capable of becoming Summoners (having Resonance makes her immune, and the quest used to feature Arenvald as well, but due to 5.5 he can't always be there). Here, she's is finally shown not getting forgiveness, because it's clear she never will get it and she doesn't want to be forgiven for her crimes either. But for people to let go of the past, and accept that she's trying to do good now.

One of Endwalkers Major themes, as you noted in passing, is knowing to let go. To end the cycle of hurt, and to press onwards towards a brighter tomorrow. All of the Role quests in someway touch upon that concept.

Going on to the Trust Trial: If you pay attention to the NPC dialogue and actions, Y'Shtola quickly figures out the Boss Mechanics because she can see where the aether is going. Urianger notices this and starts following her citing her sight as protecting her. He uses Rescue to pull in Alisae on the next mechanic, Alphinauld, Thancred and G'raha learn then about the mechanics, but Alisae and Estinien are both too hotheaded to focus on dodging. Alisae blatantly getting hit by attacks due to her using corps-a-corps, and Estinien not timing his disengage from the boss's cleaves.
