Being 2nd in aggro is underrated. It's nice to be able to take over without incident if MT bites it.
great advise I'm proud
It’s worth noting that it can be beneficial to swap with the MT for the sake of using cooldowns, or just for letting theirs recharge. Being a “Main” and “Offtank” is usually a temporary state, and unless the fight autos both tanks constantly, it’s better to think of it as “sharing a Boss”.
My hero! I tank but I'm never sure what to do in trials, and I've always gotten conflicting advice
Best offtank is PLD. They can just cover tank swap moves and MT never has to stop tanking
Thsts some solid advice there!
Actually wrong on the enmity thing the other will always get it Andi. Have tested it >~>
Another piece of advice that is heavily slept on by most Off-tanks: Please please PLEASE use your tank-shield ability on the main tank when they take auto attacks from the boss, and/or for single tank busters (Nascent Flash, TBN, Heart of Corrundum, Intervention). If you're not going to use these abilites on yourself anytime soon, throw them on your main tank when they could benefit from them.
