The jobs of FFXIV start to feel more and more similar and samey as cooldowns all start to align naturally, giving rise to the so-called Two Minute Burst, that ALL jobs can do now. It wasn’t always like this, so let’s talk about that.

Before watching the video heres my thoughts on the 2minute meta:
>It's partly good, but flawed by design, it restricts certain job design that are more sustained damage (such as old PLD), but it's a lot more easier to balance around in general, Personally I think Raid buffs are the issue, I'd like to see more unique raid buffs instead of pressing one button every 2minutes, think of things like partner or card buffs, Think of bard songs, raid buffs should stand out and be apart of the job, not something you press and forget about.
In summary: It's the raid buffs themselves that should be reworked IMO, removing this basic 2 minute buff just is boring anyway and doesn't make the job more intresting.
This homogenization of everything, is why I've lost interest in playing FFXIV, the lack of game play diversity has removed any motivation to level new jobs, learn them well, and use them in difficult content.
A crying shame, considering FFXIV's flexible job system.
I think I'm glad I'm a newb because I have a gazillion hours of gameplay to
fully understand this, not knowing previous iterations probably never will fully.
Ignorance may be bliss? 🙂 Great vid
