  1. This may be a vain hope, but now I’m praying the game has you hooked enough to stick around for Stormblood.
Of for now other reason than the desire to see you go though the 60-70 Warrior quests.

  2. @4:38 Final Fantasy likes to throw real-world historical and mythological references around.
Pharos is the name of the real-world island where the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria was built; it also lends its name to a number of fairly important lighthouses around the world.
Sirius is Greek for "glowing" or "scorching", but is also the name of the brightest star in the sky.

Which would mean that "Pharos Sirius" means Bright Lighthouse Island.

  3. in 1.0, the planned fight with Titan and Leviathan got canned due to IRL event (the Earthquake in JP)
this basically made Garuda's theme, "Fallen Angel", Soken's debut boss theme.

  4. "it cannot surprise me anymore" …that earned you a sub here and follow on Twitch because I want to see every moment you eat those words. LOL (and your videos are fun. XD but this cinched it.)

  5. oh no, its not spriggan poo, you literally murder the creature and gut it like a fish. its stomach acid coats the crystal and protects you from the radiating corrupted aether. Spriggan are like FF tauntauns, the smell worse on the inside.

  6. The chimera exists because of the (redacted) program by the (redacted) empire in the (redacted) era, lead by (redacted), aka (redacted). This program of course is foreshadowing for (redacted), where chimeras of many varieties abide. The relational position between (redacted) and the chimeras parallels the position between (redacted) and (redacted), but it's never said outright, as that would be just too obvious.

  7. Only the biggest houses cost 50mil. There's smaller sizes that cost less. Ofc if the smaller size is enough for you depends on you haha. My goal is to one day maybe get a medium so I can make a cute loft space, but even then I don't know how good I'll be at logging in regularly once I get caught up. I might want to take a six month break or something, I dunno yet. I've never been caught up before. But it's definitely going to happen this year (whether it'll happen before or after dawn trail drops remains to be seen).

  8. Right around when I first started playing, the creator of Berserk had passed and for nearly a week straight there was a very similar vigil in Ul'dah on every server except it was an endless line of Dark Knights. I was never into Berserk so the news of the creator's passing didn't really affect me much personally, but seeing everyone come together like that and collectively trying to honor someone who clearly meant so much to a lot of people honestly made me cry. It was one of the first moments I can remember really thinking that this was a community I /wanted/ to be involved in as much as I could, even if inevitably I ran into the occasional asshole.

  9. I find it funny you specify Y'shtola as British. I believe the ARR English dub was done in America, but when they got to Heavensward they moved the production to the UK. So you just kind of accept that the dialogue sections of FFXIV feel like an elaborate BBC production at some point.

  10. "Why is it a lion?" The long and short of it is some evil science wizards wanted a dragon killing machine so the grafted a whole bunch of animals together and made that. They were so good at their job that they are still alive. Very dnd, very fun.

  11. Okay something that's kinda confusing the way it's worded is that when Gaius say's "eikon" he's referring to Garuda, not the mecha-centaur weapon. "Eikon" is what the Garleans call the primals.

  12. If you managed to enjoy yourself through this bit of the story, you're going to love this game. Being led around on a wild goose chase after corrupted crystals of the wrong element is often used by the fanbase as the go-to example of ARR being a bit faff and full of annoying filler (the fact they go "oops, wrong crystal!" several times REALLY rubs people the wrong way). It's all way, way uphill from here.

  13. I just learned that there's a trick to Aurum Vale's firat room, just run through ans go to the boss room. When you get there, dont pull the boss, just go to the left corner and moat of the trash mobs will lose aggro
