So, went ahead and CUT a bunch of Tenzen theory crafting from this one – will be putting it near the end of the next video instead! Don't want to potentially spoil stuff for newer folks who are maybe watching content in chronological order (slim chance, I know, but hey!)
Suzaku is one of the most fun trials to do in extreme in my opinion. My fav of stormblood. If you can do it on Extreme for the experience I highly recommend doing it once sync (and if you want the doggos just un sync farm)
Now that you've done this, I can now recommend 3 quests for you. There's a certain side quest in Sharlayan Hamlet of Labyrinthos you may like, as well as 2 quests in Old Sharlayan; one is around the Aetheryte near a box, & another is given by Dickon at Last Stand. I have no context to offer you, but I feel you will like them.
3:07 I'm 98% sure that instrument is an erhu (or a similar Japanese equivalent), one of my favourite classical Chinese instruments! It's definitely a fitting instrument that has several references to Chinese culture and/or mythology, like the first room being an octagon shape referencing the Bagua and the final boss being Sun Wukong (glad you caught it!) from Journey to the West. The fight with Sun Wukong also has some nice nods to his original moves, like his cudgel and his ability to pull out hairs from his head and turn them into clones of himself (Splitting Hairs).
Suzaku is one of my absolute favourite trials in Stormblood! Farming for dogs on that fight never got old, although I did have to turn my voice-over language from English to Japanese for the first time because I wasn't a fan of her EN voice. 😅
yay! Suzaku! its my 2nd favorite Extreme trial run for Stormblood! We called the phase transition mechanic the "DDR" (Dance Dance Revolution mechanic) mechanic haha, it was pretty fast in Extreme too. The exploding quadrants are also faster in Extreme mode and blows up in a pattern. Looking forward to Seiryu next. 😀
look into the flame-kissed weapon glamours. they are some of the best glamours easy to get.
PSA, they are not the weapons that are dropped but craft (goldsmith) from the mat drop in the fights. you can buy that mat in the mb but it cost hundreds of thousands (2 weeks ago it was 400k)
Newcomer here! Loving your commentary and reactions as a pair, especially in Endwalker; you guys seem to have much more intellectual and thoughtful responses than others I've watched, and I appreciate it!
One small correction: the scales falling from one's eyes is indeed a Biblical reference, but it comes from the New Testament, when Saul/Paul was blinded on the road to Damascus, and then was later healed after meeting with a disciple named Ananias. When Saul was healed, it says that "something like scales" fell from his eyes, and since then, the phrase has been used to describe when someone was "blind" in some regard, and then realizes the truth and regains their "sight".

I forgot how hilarious the Soroban fight was with Tataru!

There is a reason my FC calls Suzaku "thirsty bird", lol
Tataru is such a toxic player 🤣🤣🤣

Suzaku's story was really beautiful
small bit of trivia, Suzaku shares her japanese voice actress with Krile, and that's her singing during the trial.
WOW! I completely forgot about the solo duty with Tataru!
FYI: The tortoise model in this game is literally lifted from directly from FFXI's Genbu model.
