  1. The frame where he's holding his hand I believe is resting on a gun that has been removed for the teaser trailer. Hence why the hand looks weird and out of place. Obviously just a theory but I'm a firm believer that the melee class is Corsair it's going to use scouting gear and play kinda like reverse red mage where it builds up resources to use ranged attacks probably with a spell pistol like in ff11.

  2. I actually just think the shirt relates to the melee job, they are ninja's hence the scouting gear, and what do ninjas fight? Pirates. This concludes my tedtalk.

  3. My guess goes more towards a duelist-class like runefencer simply based on the sword-model as almost the exact weapon already exists in the game for RDM. This assumtion is also based on the fact that it's supposed to be a nimble dex-based fighter for sharing scouting gear.

  4. In case of geomancer why it very definitly won't be one of the new classes is: Geomancers in FFXIV already exist they are healers! One we meet in the astrologian questline and the other one is later on in Endwalker. You could say geomancer are healers of the east.
"Geomancers and Astrologians are said to both draw power from the stars, with Geomancy focusing on the "star" below (the Source itself) and the powers of its wind, earth, and water. Geomancers' abilities and weapons are similar to ones used by Conjurers."

So if in another expansion comes a healer, then maybe it could be geomancer but I don't think they would change the lore and purpose of a class which already exists ingame just so it can be a new dps class.

Oh btw. the weapon in the trailer which the WoL is suppose to hold, was removed from the teaser but the holding position of the hand still exists. In the full trailer we then will see the weapon and most likely will then know at least one of the new classes.
They did pull that trick before were a lot of scence were cut and weapon were removed or retouched in the teaser trailers.

  5. I really hope for Corsair. It would be interest to have a class that is both ranged and close combat. Without being magical.

But it could also be spell sword.

I also wish for them to add beast master as a limited job, (Like blue mage is). As the same argument for not including blue mage in regular duties, applies to not including beast master on regular duties. It would certainly be interesting to go around trying to catch different beast to summon.

  6. would be interesting to see this introduction of new jobs as a secondary path for the existing classes, so the corsair/pirate could be a branch off of rogue. etc and even a geomancer an off shoot of the conjurer job. they already have this option in sch/smn and it is a bit of an outlier IMO. could make sense to add more classed that have different job options

  7. not sure if anyone else mentioned it but in the frame where he's 'holding his hand in a weird way', if you look at the pose, one hand looks like it's supposed to be resting on something, like maybe a hilt of a blade, while the other hand looks strange too, and is actually something you see commonly if you play machinist; it's a pose to hold a gun. they just hid the weapons in this frame for the trailer, so it doesn't obviously reveal the new job, and the blade we see during the fight could possibly change as well to what's supposed to be there!
Also to add; during the dual, people have seen something on the pants that looks like a holster. it's the only frame where that side of the pants is even partly visible, but it could also be a pocket or something else.
I think the TMNT hint, while possibly dual purpose for pictomancer (which could be interesting, and play sorta like a mix of blue mage and summoner), it's possibly a reference to the old 'ninjas vs pirates' trend, and would make a perfect parallel to the Ninja job.
These are my theories, and I'm so excited to see what the case will be.

  8. Now that I think about it for a pirate type class, Is their currently a trait that would boost Gil earned? It could earn a small amount of Gil per kill in the overworld as well.

  9. My main question about the Pictomancer is how they'd make it work in an MMO. It's not a bad idea or guess by any means, but to me it feels more like a "Limited Job" like Blue Mage, since it works very differently from most other jobs in FF by painting your enemies and using their attacks against them. It would be extremely difficult for them to program the job to be able to copy skills from every different enemy in the game, and if it just becomes some sort of typical generic caster it wouldn't be 'true to the class.' Normally that wouldn't be an issue, but considering just how adamant they were about making Blue Mage "true to the class" by inventing limited jobs in the first place, it would feel weird for them to just dumb down Pictomancer into a generic MMO-style caster in my opinion. But hey, maybe that's what they'll do? We can only speculate at this point. 🙂

  10. I'd love a pictomancer/painting kind of job. Would be super cute on Krile (she doesn't have an official job yet despite wearing the signature devout outfit from ffIII and tactics A2) and as a person who likes to draw, it would be a fun job to try. Other job is definitely pirate themed.

  11. Tbh. I just want geomancer Atleast a newer version of it summoning crystals and earth that explode or shoot light or something. And I hope that's what we get cause that would be cool to me. Thanks for your thoughts!

  12. Geomancers are not Astrologians. People are spreading misinformation. The only thing Geos and Astros have in common is they both read the future. Differently but nonetheless. Geomancers are not healers. Geomancers have never been healers in the final fantasy series. They don’t carry wands like conjurers. They carry bells. Granted it was the same animation as a conjurer but that means nothing. For those spreading misinformation use the new game plus and go back and play the Astro job quest from 60-70.

  13. I hope its not like too pirate themed. It's never been a theme I've particularly cared for. But a sword and gun fighting style sounds right up my alley.

  14. i've been loving all the theories! my current guess is pretty obviously a pirate-y job, with a short sword and something on off-hand, scouting gear because ninja has been alone for too long, and likely the only real connection to the shirt. Historically YoshiP only teased one job at a time at NA, revealing it at EU + new race (female hrothgar letsgoooooo) and final job reveal + a lot other info at JP fanfest. So we'll see in October!
