  1. My thing on the new player experience is that it needs to stay intact through 6.0.

After 6.1 drops, I think depending on how much knowledge of the back story of the 2.0 – 6.0 is needed, that they can just make it so new can start with the 6.1 story, starting in maybe 7.0 or something. How they'd go about making that work logistically, I'm not sure on, but I would imagine something like making the world scale based on your current level. Then have some kind of starting story to bring the gap from you being the new player into being the WoL.

As far as the impact of big name streamers, I think it's done something far more important than bringing new players to FFXIV. I think it's signaled to a lot players that it is okay to play and enjoy more than one game. It is okay to take a break from one game and try another game for awhile. There is no reason to be beholden to a single game, especially if it's not something you find enjoyable at the time.

  2. Honestly, I'm really grateful to players like the three of you who love seeing noobs like myself and are down to help us with our leveling dungeons and trials. As an older player who stopped playing MMOs a long time ago those instanced events have never been a brick wall for me largely because there is almost always someone great in there with us who really knows it and can show us the ropes without spoiling everything. I am having a great time and I credit a lot of that to a great (overall) community.

  3. Yes popular streamers do have a privilege in getting into Ultimate fights, I have left Balmung to Mateus and Mateus to Cactuar looking for people to help me get into Savage and ultimate fights and even join discord to find people and still no DM for ultimates but Savage I finally got into it and beaten es5 to 8 and es9 to 12 and I love it! Now I started to stream recently my PvP matches, I do have a bit of a hate from some players cause I reach platinum and never took PvP serious until now and now they see this new face I guess I made some mistakes but I'm giving the effort to learn and have won many matches, however if I was a famous streamer I would have been stream snipe by haters or help by pro's. But as an average player and new streamer I do this for me and trying my best to reach goals I have never gotten before I take challenges and take harsh criticism to be better player or to reach a goal that is above and beyond. But I never hate on any famous streamer, because I look at it both ways, yes their privalage in getting help and yes their hated by many to stream snipe or make their experience horrible. But w/e comes my way I face it head on, even when I feel defeated I think of the dad of light who didn't give up. 🙂

  4. The issue is that it is still too soon to say about the lasting impact of Asmongold and Rich Campbell. Sure they've brought new players, but we don't know how many of these players are actually sticking around yet. I feel that we will see a large number of them fall off once they reach the end of Heavensward (the free trial).

  5. The biggest thing about the whole carry concept is the streamer (or whoever is being accused) needs to make it clear it doesn't bother them for people to say it. With Asmongold you can easily tell it really gets under his skin when someone says it. And there are a lot of people who will say he was carried just because they know it bothers him. He needs to just say screw you and move on.

  6. Yes the streamers, especially popular ones, get perks like no queues and good raiders volunteering to join them. They also have huge drawbacks like a thousands of backseat gamers criticizing everything they do, etc.
