The Grind is Paying Off – Getting Every Achievement in FFXIV #51

This week in Final Fantasy XIV I cashed in several achievements that we’ve worked on for a while. The long term efforts have really paid off. Just in time for a new patch next week! As a reminder, this series will be going on pause after week 52!

  1. Weekly progress report, Lalachievements score: 17,570. Not as productive as last week, but still productive.

I did more treasure maps last weekend, and picked up Legends of the Hidden Treasure III and Stay Gold Cenote I. While we were flying around, snek popped and so I also picked up Terrible Ttokrrone.

In the meantime, I finished off CUL with custom deliveries, as previously discussed, and so picked up All in Good Taste X and Mastering the Hand VI. FSH is now the only crafter/gatherer I have left to level to cap.

I also finished pushing DRG and RPR to level cap, picking up Strong Lance Arm X and Perchance to Dream III. This then allowed me to wrap up the melee role quests, picking up Dreams Woven Anew. And I got enough Poetics to pick up Perfect: Madervillous Greatsword.

That's it for achievements gained, but I did have another milestone. I finished the last large-scale tradecraft levequest today, so my progress on unique tradecraft leve completion is going to be properly in gear soon.

  2. Oh, and I finally finished Dawntrail on my own Lala and actually cleared AAC Lightheavyweight M1. I was scared it'd be brutal since I didn't do Pandemonium, but Black Cat was really fun to fight against and the story was cool, a battle arena! ^_^

Can't wait for 7.1 to drop and get myself murdered by Prische in Echoes of Vana'diel. XD

  3. Your talk of " A clear's a clear " will always be my philosophy with content in this game. I just wanna clear, I don't really care about the numbers. As long as the group is consistent with mechanics and DPS isn't so bad that its denying a clear, I am fine. I have been losing interest in high end because of the element of gathering people, all being on a schedule, and dealing with one or two people that really slows the progress down.

  6. I love when Cider speaks about "I love to grind a lot" meanwhile whenever he streams he's standing in Limsa or his house for 3-4 hours doing absolutely nothing but talking to the chat.
I don't mind as that's not for me and i'll simply won't tune in for that, but just find that kinda funny, but you could easily go into PF for it, plenty of fresh progs to go around, but the longer you wait, the harder fresh progs will be to find for older ultimates, at some point that pool will dry up unfortunate, granted plenty of helpers to go around and not neccessarily hard carry you, but can give you pointers.

I cut the video at 7:33 video time. Reconnected some m8s and bashed stuff with fire. Thanks not sharing. Maybe b.c. Time travel? Thanks. Dropping next time if it's less complicated, so downloaded, check, SFS involved now. 8 + 1 whatever.. Thanks.

  8. My endgame was to bring my DoW/DoM/DoL/DoH (and BLU) classes to the patch's top level (currently 100). By doing so, I've done all the Beast Tribe's quests, Custom Deliveries, Manderville relics, and Island Sanctuary, just to name a few. The goalpost is constantly moving and keeps my sub active for months on end and find new ways to keep playing. These have been playing as I've played so this channel keeps me going 😊

  9. Hey Cider! This might be sappy, but your videos have been something I look forward to every week. I quit my Job to start my own business and things have been crazy, stressful, yet hopeful. Every Friday, the drive home after closing makes me feel better hearing about your grind as well. Keep at it brother!
