I’m not an MMO person, normally, but maybe I can make a difference for the award winning game Final Fantasy XIV, with its free trial including gameplay up to lvl 60 and all the other stuff.

  1. No you dont Imagine it. The Fenrir Motorbike has a built in increased Minimum Base Speed.
Also with the command "/mountbgm" you can deactivate the special Music that plays while Riding Mounts and of course you can turn it on with the same Command.
That should be a easy fix for the music problem of the Fenrir 🙂

  2. NORAXIA HAS JOINED THE SCIONS PARTY!! 💛

something I've only noticed now: Skyen, if you have any trouble or dislike towards default inventory, you can change it in the character configuration settings, in the item settings tab, where you can either choose "Open All" or "Extended", which I find more useful than the tiny bag window with many tabs

  3. Liavinne, who you talk to at 21:12, was part of Edda's adventuring group that split up in Gridania after you did Tam-Tara Deepcroft. I always find it interesting that she end up with the Scions after leaving that party.

  4. I love Fay's videos! So cool to see the streams crossing. If you're tired of those long queue times for dungeons, maybe level up a Conjurer next; insta-queues! Totally recommend leveling multiple classes while doing the MSQ. It gives so much experience.

  5. Alright, I gotta say it: I absolutely love the voice you do for the Sylphs! I'm not sure what editing magic you do to make it sound like that but it's like sweet honey for my ears. When it's in combination with your nearly flawless articulation I always understand what they are saying and am far more invested in conversations with them than with any other character so far. You are doing a fantastic job with this series Skyen. Keep it up!

  6. So one of the Scions you spoke with in the Waking Sands, Liavinne, you may (but probably didn't) recognize as one of the party members from Edda's ill-fated adventuring group. The group that you saw in Gridania after you did your second dungeon, where their tank had died and the other two party members were berating Edda for not being able to heal him. Specifically, Liavinne was the one who told her 'I never liked you, I only put up with you for your healing' and then also yelled at her for hanging onto their tank's severed head. The reason I point this detail out is because one of my absolute favourite things about FF14 is the way that NPCs, even minor and seemingly unimportant ones, will recur throughout the game in different places and roles. It makes them feel more fleshed out, like they actually have their own lives going on in the background, and it helps the world feel more alive and fleshed out as a result. It also tends to make for pleasant surprises if/when some of those characters go on to actually be important later.

  7. 26:16 while the idea came from me mishearing what was said, I think there is an interesting character motivation there. A person who has no personal stakes in the situation, but can see that the events unfolding could lead greater and wants to stay to see it through. Even for a less “intellectual” character like Bricc, he would rather go with the flow and use his strength for the problems right in front of him. It may not lead to a deep character, but i think it would be interesting in itself.

  8. I dunno when it's told outright but Cid's full name is Cid nan Garlond (he's a former imperial like most Garlond Ironworks members). Biggs and Wedge are also former imperials though they're not using their real names in public for obvious reasons.

  9. I really hope you continue to play and eventually get to see the writing get stronger and stronger. I think the writers figured out a way to invest a little more personality and feelings behind the story once they hit their stride and they weren't just recovering from 1.0

  10. Not really a spoiler but Gridania is actually closer to Ala Mhigo then Little Ala Mhigo is as Ala Mhigo is at Gyr Abania northeast of Gridania, while Thanalaan is Southwest of Gridania (and Little Ala Mhigo is at Southern part of Thanalaan).

  11. OMG I am so happy you love it so much! ^__^ I figured you might, considering what mount it is and who it is linked to and stuff, and thank you Skyen. hugs you tightly For the lovely shout-out you totally didn't have to do, and also just for being you! ^^ And no, you are not imagining it, the mount does have a +1 mount-speed on all maps, so it will get you around faster, while rocking dramatic nostalgia inducing music! 😀

I swear I was so happy when I saw you trying out this game, because I KNOW how much you know about the franchise and great character writing and character design, and I know you will love picking it apart and enjoying it for the absolute marvellous tribute game it is at times! 😀 And for the great story it tells while being that! 🙂 And I have missed playing games together, so hey! ^___^ Hopefully now we can manage to catch each other in game, and do something stupid! 😀 😀 offers biggest hug Always awesome content to watch, and I for one absolutely love your reactions to the political undertones of the story and set-up! 😀

Also, also!! You should do the summer event that ends tomorrow! Free polar bear mount! 😀 Adorably derpy looking one, too!

  12. This has been fun a fun series so far! I appreciate you talking to all the NPCs, even the ones outside the quest., and all the voices you give them. There's some interesting bits of lore and characterization hidden in there, specially in later expansions, where dialogues change with practically each quest. I hope you continue to enjoy the game!
