  1. Honestly I think people only want homgenization of tanks because they made the abilities bad. The abilities that are left over are basically unusable and require tons of over justification for their continued existence.

There wasn't even an attempt to balance things or change things as the game changed. They just moved towards homogenization to the point where everyone is now wondering why we even have more than one tank

Bring back tank variety and bring it back knowing there will be issues. Then address the issues as they come. Don't just whole sale give up on variety

  2. Max can't forget this shit meta thing of wow, he can't realize how that's a bad thing to the game and gladdly in FF14 this is not mandatory like in other shit games like wow

  3. I think one thing most people can agree on is that more content should be at least a little bit harder to do as opposed to completely braindead to finish.

  4. About DRK. Self sustain with Souleater and Abyssal are underwhelming heals. Living Dead is a total party drain and requires heavy healer attention. Or Blood Weapon being shit. Or Living Shadow costing Blood on a 2 minute CD and being in the fucking way as a glorified DoT. Or Salted Earth being made objectively worse. Or Shadowbringer being a buffed Dark Passenger.

And bring back Blood Price. If the issue is mah MP mah dps then give the DRK ways to restore MP. Even a skill that just gives you MP like BLM manafont would be preferable.

This class needs a whole rework and at some point they need to fix or change their invuln, give some resource return, have skills that synergize with each other meaning MP and Blackblood interact, and they need to NUKE Delirium from orbit. Being a shit Warrior as a class design is poor class design IMO. Which sadly I think the DElirium/Inner Release QoL change was the best thing DRK got.

TBN needs to be either free in the same vein as Holy Sheltron, HoC, Bloodwhetting/Nascent Flash or needs an upgrade. Oblation is trash. It's worse then OG Shadowskin and worse then role action Rampart. I can only see it marginally useful as an offtank or to pair it up with TBN but you want TBN to break so that's probably not going to end well.

Dark Knight slowly gets more gutted each expansion and it's really bad that DRK only really has TBN to fall back on for mitigation which leaves you pretty defenseless for any content lvl69 and under.

It's just very underwhelming. The other Tank jobs look really good. They have some issues yeah but not as much as DRK. Players have been asking for Living Dead changes for 6 years yet here we are.

  5. ARR I was Paladin, HW was Dark , SB I was Paladin/Dark and SHB I was Gunbreaker/Dark. But boy, with these changes I think I’m going to have to go Paladin/Warrior, which I don’t totally love but I don’t want to let my team die haha

  6. My experience seems to be unusual, so here's how I got into tanking:

In my brief excursion into WoW, my main wound up being a Dwarf DK(Unholy) named McKnightface. When my friend talked me into trying FFxiv, I wanted to keep the name, so I went with Gladiator, not realizing it was a tank-only class. But I liked the name so I figured I'd stick with it to see if I could git gud, and wound up loving it. Seriously, I hated dungeoning in WoW for the most part because I didnt know the dungeons, so I couldnt keep up. And of course my dumb ass mained dwarves, which have a lower running speed on top of that. But tanking xiv is awesome because the party had to stop and wait for me at some point, and most players have been happy to help me learn.

Interestingly enough, my FC is quite small and a bit heavy on tanks, so I wound up levelling alt classes in heals and dps to be able to do stuff with them.

  7. The beauty of FF XIV is that every job is viable, making all people participate in game and have fun. I am so glad they fix game. No player should ever feel excluded just becasue he plays X or Y class.

    I admire FF for that.
