  1. I’m just glad Summit is enjoying FF14, I know Summit loves PvP games but FF14 is more of a PvE game.

It’s nice to see him chill on stream and play this game.

  2. Haven’t seen Summit THIS invested in the development background of an MMO, let alone a video game, watching an hours long documentary. You can tell he’s actually interested in the process of FFXIV’s death and rebirth. Really cool to see!

  3. Have your sins been forgiven today and forever?  Think about this.   The God of the bible,  the One True God made us to worship him, obey him, and enjoy him forever.   We break His laws daily by not putting Him first, not thanking Him like we should, we lie, we lust, we have sex before marriage, we dishonor our parents, we covet things other people have, we take God's name and use it in vain,  we use it in a low manner,  sometimes as a cuss word,  (God is holy and even His name is holy),  we don't love like we should, etc.  In doing so we're saying He's not a good provider,  He's a liar,  He's untrustworthy,  He's not worthy of praise.   All these things and more are counted against us.   The bible says God is the just judge of the world and one day He will settle the score for all the wrong we've done.  God is holy meaning He is righteous (morally perfect in thought, word,  and deed)  It also means He is set apart and higher than us.  God  being good, must punish all sin or wrong doing in the world.  This means that if you sin one time God will cast you in hell for eternity.   Because He is good and He doesn't turn a blind eye to sin.  But there is good news.  2000 years ago Jesus the Son  of God came into this world and lived a perfect life ( He never sinned once)  and He died on the cross taking the wrath that we deserve and paid the penalty for the sins we committed.   The bible says that if you will repent (confess and forsake your sins)  and trust in what Christ did on the cross (He took the wrath of God that was meant for you and I) then all your sins will be forgiven and when you die you will be in heaven with God and all who believe for eternity.  Jesus died and on the third day He rose from the grave.  Get right with God today don't wait.  Once you die after that comes the judgement.  Hebrews 9:27 It's the most important thing you can do.   You must be born again John 3:7 If you repent and trust in what Christ did on the cross it shows that you've been born again or born spiritually.   Right now you're dead in your sins and you can't see the beauty of Jesus Christ but after you trust in Christ all the things you hate about God like obeying him,  serving Him,  loving Him and others,  reading the bible, praying and going to church you will love to do those things because God changes your heart.   That's how you know you have been born again and forgiven.  Please think long about this and ask me any questions you have as this is the most important thing you can ever think of in your life.   An eternity in hell (darkness and a lake of fire the bible describes it, with weeping and gnashing of teeth)  or an eternity out of that place and into the loving arms of God who is infinitely glorious, has infinite knowledge and has infinite power to do all that He pleases.   You decide.   Have a great day!

  4. Yeah, the Crystal Tools engine that they used in XIV had a number of problems, and one of those was that they wouldn't have been able to put out expansions on it. 1.0 looked prettier than 2.0, but that was the only part of the engine that essentially worked, and even there, the graphics were lagging everything.

  5. As a 1.0 vet, this game was hot garbage, but at the time it came out being an FFXI fan I didn't care. I still remember my adventures through 1.0 and I would do it again if I could go back. I remember your level didn't matter for armor, yes you can be level 1 and equip level 50 armor, yes you would get penalties, but it didn't matter once you hit level cap you had your armor. Crafting was god awful, each crafter worked off of another crafters' crafted item and they weren't leveled around the same time. For example at level 10 for carpenter, there was a recipe to make a level 10 lance, that recipe consisted of several items you needed, but they required level 20 crafters or higher to make those parts, just for a level 10 lance. There was no recipe book in-game for crafting, you had to memorize the mats needed for crafting something.
They set up a separate place for you to put retainers to sell goods, there was no auction board or market boards like in ARR, you literally had to go through crowds of player-owned retainers to search for anything you wanted. we are talking wards that held 100+ retainers and there were like 20 wards to go through. They eventually added an item search function later which marked any retainer that had what you were looking for in that ward with a star above their head.

  6. The 7th umbral calamity happening in game with a massive war going on between the players and an endless amount of monsters and then becoming a permanent moment in the game's universe was the greatest move for an MMO I've ever seen.

  7. You're right in that the 1.0 version of the game did look better than what we would get for several years in A Realm Reborn and beyond. The problem was that it ran like crap. It's one thing for a game to be so demanding that all but the most powerful rigs can't run it, but FF14 1.0 has a unique razzy of being so badly optimized that its own servers couldn't run it.

  8. i think im the only one who loved 1.0 even though it was incomplete.. maybe because I love that they got the job change system from ff tactics? i quit the game right before subscription started. (coz i don't have any credit card i cant continue playing anymore.) so i started 2.0 with lvl 45

  9. Yeah they are protective of the brand, but have shown themselves to be its biggest threat. I mean this happened, and they handled it right, and successfully saved it. Then not too long later FFXV happened 🤦‍♂️. I’d be willing to bet money if FFXVI wasn’t announced to have Yoshi-P as a director, there would be a big difference in people faith in it.

  10. There's actually a sight seeing log that also references the great goobbue wall called the lonely giant just to the east of camp drybone. A single goobbue stands covered in foliage and its surroundings with an npc explaining that he was part of the battle of carteneau and fled there when his master was struck, collecting seeds along the way which grew around him where he finally succumbed to his injuries.
