What an accomplishment. They’ve outdone themselves with FFXIV’s latest raid, Agalia. I can’t wait to see how the Myths of the Realm series shapes up!

Gotta say – the spectacle of the fights is definitely a pulling force to join FFXIV.
I still have not gotten to that point, however, every time I take a look at the end-game content I feel like I'm one second away from fully committing.
I had all of the mechanics down by my third run of the raid and on that third run where I was keeping very high melee uptime and dancing through the mechanics it felt so epic. The whole raid just screams adventure and it feels so good to play through
Congrats on getting to see Thal's balls Bellular 🤣
I have a lore theory that the 12 are disciples of Venat, and when she transformed to Hydaelyn these 12 were also ascended to deity like beings, and I think they were originally made to be overseers of the shards, but remember that there are 13 shards, but the 13th shard is Void, so perhaps there actually was a 13th disciple, but who get void corrupted?
A friend of mine thinks the Twelve are actually Auspices. ie, ascended animals. The theory goes that the reason no Auspices appear in Eorzea is because the Twelve have been snatching them up. He even points out that when the Twelve appear in Rhalgr's Reach, they assume the appearance of SMALL ANIMALS, and thinks the small animals are actually the Twelve's real selves, and the humanoid god forms are their combat forms much like the Far East Auspices have humanoid forms.
He even thinks we met one of the Twelve (in their original animal form) on Elpis. Which got me thinking that the Twelve's private realm might actually be Elpis. The two locations have floating islands in common after all.
You have got to play the alliance raids for the other expansions now.
The only other raid you played was The Crystal Tower? Do the Ivalice raids now, heathen. While personally I do like the Nier Automata raids, they also don't really fit in FFXIV. I still find them fun, just out of place.
And this is only the first tier! Usually the third is the best by a good margin, so I'm extremely excited for the future parts!
No surprise they really went all out for this one. These are the Twelve we're talking about, finally getting to see what they're all about after a decade of story!
That being said, go check out all the other alliance raids, basically all of them are winners. The Nier ones are awesome!
There are savage tier "alliance raids". They are Baldesion Arsenal in Eureka (ok, maybe more extreme than savage for this one) and Delubrum Reginae (Savage) in Bozja.
Delubrum is an actual savage tier difficulty raid mechanically speaking, and also differs quite wildly from the normal version.
"Spectacle" is exactly the word I'd use to describe all of the Alliance raids. I highly recommend you get to trying the others!
When Rhalgr summons a meteor and punches the shit out of it making all the shrapnel rain all over the hand that is as spectacular and badass as it gets
Day one Alliance Raid is the most fun to do with friends. In a few weeks it will already feel boring because everyone knows the fights. But this raid was absolutly gorgeous.
You're probably used to it, but you're camera is facing very low, your character shouldn't be that much in the center of your screen. You can't even see the totaly of the boss there and sometimes animations is very important (with this setting, I can't imagine being able to see half the mechanics in P3S for example).
I recommend ivalice next unless uve played nier or drakenguard, then go nier raid
"If they were ever to do a savage of these"
They did.
Twice.
Almost all mechanics are variation of older mechanics you should already know how to deal with. They might look different, but principle is same.
Obviously, its difficulty is way above CT. Nobody is spared.
You should go back and do the other 24 man raids.
Thal's balls!!
A piece of advice my FC told me when I started playing is "As long as there is one rezzer still alive, don't reset/release" So far it's served me well. Got a lot of great recoveries by just waiting and seeing the one rezzer pull us all back up!
I feel like all Alliance Raids have very cool mechanics. They are always much more fun than normal raids. They can get away with having very punishing mechanics, because a 24 man raid has such good recovery.
Alliance Raids are what I wish 40 man raiding would have become. The idea of a large group of players working as smaller strike team but doing the same encounter is way more fun than having large groups doing fights designed for smaller sized groups.
my theory is the 12 are ascended amourtine, and Venart was the first to ascend, how ff14 telegraph the mechanics is so much better than wow and its why I enjoy raiding in ff14. yes you many fuck up but your always learning in ff14.
Pretty sure they are concepts brought forth using dynamis instead of aether. That's my best uneducated guess.
The amount of times I screamed on the third boss was otherworldly and just goes to show how fun and just amazed how much the devs/ game designers outdid themselves for this raid. 😭 and to think it is only the FIRST ONE!!! AAAAH!
/petsize all small please someone get this line of code to bellular, he will be able to see more without large garuda's blocking his screen
Whenever I see your character next to G'raha, it looks like you're his sister.
Go to another Alliance Raids! What are you waiting!)
They are magnificent too!)
😍😍😍😍
