  1. So when can I catch HHE on HGC?

In seriousness though. My first Housing in an MMO was EQ2 and I had fun with it. My friend and I saved up and bought a mansion and filled it out. It was good times. I don't have a house in FFXIV, my FC Does but it's small. I can't say I've put any thought into it at all, but the fact that there is a lottery for a house completely turns me away from the entire system full stop. I don't want to deal with that shit.

I've played an upsetting amount of House Flipper. I say this with no joke, playing House flipper… made me want to buy a house in real life. So I did. I want to joke about it but the game got me to buy a house. So I would honestly LIKE to have a house in FFXIV… but again the lottery… eh, and I'm also poor.

  2. I love your msq videos so much but your reviews of features in the game sell me even more to play this game and I've been playing since ARR when NIN came out.

  3. Got mine in shirogane with the old system on a random whim thinking "Ain't no way in hell I'll be getting it." as I'm challenged by friends that just a small try ain't gonna hurt. Lo and behold I pissed off 6 FC folks one my 1st attempt.

  4. I used to have a small house during the Stormblood expansion. I loaded it up with the coolest furniture and stuff that I could afford at the time. I tend to take multi month breaks from any MMO I play, so I ended up losing the house because you don’t get to keep it forever if your subscription lapses more than 2 months (I think, feel free to correct me).

They sent an email warning me that I would lose the house if I didn’t resub, which is fair, but I didn’t feel like paying the money at the time because I didn’t have anything I wanted to do in game for a while. I knowingly gave up the house, but I didn’t realize that they would only hold my furnishings for a month and then delete them.

I thought I would be able to retrieve all my stuff when I finally logged back in months later, but I was unpleasantly surprised to find all that money I spent flushed down the toilet (which was my fault for not paying attention to the rules).

That’s my only real gripe with housing (aside from the scarcity), is that you can lose it all (and the money you spent on the lot and furnishings, etc) if you take a multi month break.

  5. Given the small number of houses available for the full number of people who would like them; I'm still not sure you have played a game where players have houses. More like a game where players want houses.

  6. Thank you again for visiting my(Zaajee) in game house! I'm happy it was neat enough to show in this video, because I was amazed by everyone else's houses!

  7. Kyle: "This is the truest expression of a lived in game"

Kyle wants to tell us about houses…Then takes us to church

I had a bet going with my girlfriend: We will buy a house in Seattle before I will get one in Eorzea. Seattle won.

A market where homes are listed for no more than 36 hours before some techie asshole comes in with his bezos bucks and waves inspections and appraisals then throws 100k on top of the list price just to secure it, Seattle won.

  8. My personal gripe with the housing system is not being able to place stuff naturally on lofts. From what I researched and practiced, you gotta do a glitch and it's time consuming AF. There's a mod to fix this but honestly it should be in the game already.

  9. maybe it's time they really got to the deepest part of housing. player driven events, there's theaters, bars, clubs, an awesome casino and gentleman's club. all player made and player driven.

you guys have only skirted the plate, not taken a bite yet; and dont even know about the creamy center

  10. The most prominent glitch (without use of mods) is place – > change floor – > rotate a bit for safety – > leave area – > return. Boom.

Mods have helped with the, especially lofts inside houses. I've been spending too much time performing a glitch to get stuff on my lofts it's absurd.

  11. I could never quite articulate what I liked about these grinding gear videos but after watching you guys go through the msq and reviewing all the aspects this game has to offer it's really charming and endearing. Like these videos feels like those innocent times from the early 2000s on youtube and I mean that in the highest form of compliment ever. Like they are undisturbed from any outside forces and you guys seem to remain perfectly candid and blind to any spoilers or whatnot and it's always cozy to watch these.

  12. Best suggestion I have is to use the Housing Preview option in the housing Menu once you get your first house. It lets you see each possible Housing item and place it around the space to see if you would like how it went well together. I used that and made a google spreadsheet to identify what (and how many) of each item I wanted and then make a plan to acquire said item.

It's also possible for you to go grab an Apartment, you can have one as well as a house. You can use the apartment to start to store housing materials you like, to test out the Housing Item Preview to start working on collecting your items and even get practice is designing the space!

  13. I got lucky that an FC mate knew his alt (that got temp banned) lost a house, and he knew when the plot would go up. I sat on Christmas day outside that plot for 9 hours and was thankfully the only one there to snag it (about 5 years ago). I've basically kept it decorated for Halloween ever since the first time the holiday was coming around. Sucks the GG FC didn't win the lot this time, but here's hoping for next round. GG guys!

  14. For the season thing I have a friend that decorate his house for the in game holidays his been playing since ARR so what he does is he uses event items from past years of the season and as soon as the seasonal even is on he gets multiple of the housing items and puts them in the house. He usually leaves them on until the next season.

  15. I'm currently very salty over this topic… my brother got a house in Shirogane and I'm stuck with a tiny apartment room in Empyreum… and he had the gall to tell me "that's good enough for a lala" while laughing. I like what I did with the room but I wanted my own haunted house….

  16. Swapping out holiday items is very easy. Each house has a storage area as well, it's like putting something on a retainer. It's there but not placed or visible. Smalls have a 200 item limit to storage. You can store away the previous holiday items there and pull the new ones out of the housing storage.

  17. I started in Ul'Dah so I'm constantly trying to find a plot in The Goblet. A bit torn though. I'd love the beachfront of The Mists, but I also love the central area of the Goblet. Reminds me a lot of the resort I stayed at in Dubai.
