10. I don't understand how some people actually thought the scions were gone in ultima thule. It was so incredibly obvious that they aren't going to die. Didn't even consider for a second, that they would stay dead, which honestly took away a lot of the impact for me.

    Mercydia is one of the places Ive been waiting to explore for a LONNNNG time. Of the races I know- I know the most about the Miqo'te and to learn more about the ancient Miqo'te society would be pretty sick.

    9:35 That zone hits so hard, its insane. I was racing to server first as PLD at the time but I did stop to watch these cutscene which infact cost me my lead. But I regret nothing.
    I was so far ahead of everyone else that I was literally alone in this zone, And the impact of these scenes when you are the only PC in the area is profound. IIll never forget it.

18. Let me preface this by saying I loved this expansion and would probably, pre-patch, give it an 8 or 9 out of 10. So yeah, no hard feelings. But I do think calling it an 11/10 is a bit overblown for a couple of big reasons.

    Much like the video, this comment will contain spoilers, so read at your own risk.

    1) We spend less than 3 total hours dealing with "The Final Day" in exchange for something like 10-12 hours simply… walking around chatting and getting exposition. In fact the Final Day scenario is so rushed that it seems to only affect a total of two isolated areas in two whole zones, at least relative to the MSQ. Not much of a Final Day, let's be honest. It honestly does feel like certain parts of this were cut from the game or shaved down to save time. It was basically the focal point of the trailers and the thing I was most excited for, but more of a footnote in the actual MSQ. In case you're confused, I'm referring to how the Final Days affects Eitherys, not the overarching threat.

    2) We only spend around 4 hours in Garlemald aiding the Imperials. Since the Final Day was basically a side note of the story, this was the most exciting part of the entire MSQ, and the moment things pick up/start getting intense, we're ushered away, much like what happened with the Final Day.

    3) Very little respects were paid to otherwise beautiful zones like Mare Lamentorum. We get maybe a total of 30 minutes of exploration here before being brought into the Space Station then ushered away once more. With Mare being one of the most beautiful and potential filled zones I've ever witnessed, being rushed through exploration and discovery here was severely disappointing, and it seems like a huge number of quests were cut from the MSQ in this area.

    Compare this to Shadowbringers, where the majority of the expansion's questline consisted of action and excitement. Or compare how in Shadowbringers, every zone was given the respect it deserved: we spent hours exploring and questing in each location, dealing with different threats all across The First. Unlike in Endwalker, Shadowbringers actually used the already well-developed Scions rather than spending hours developing them even further. In ShB, we were rarely "told." We were shown.

    I don't know, guys. I'm a writer myself, nowhere near on the level of FFXIV writers (nor could I ever hope to be)… but something felt off here. It quite literally felt like they cut large, integral portions of the plot in order to rush to the finish and to save time/cost. While I did love the expansion and find it to be excellent quality in so many ways, imagine a scenario:

    You're a CEO of SQEX, and you tell FFXIV devs to reduce costs by any means necessary. Against their better judgement, they've no choice but to comply, so they cut back on their staff and halve working hours, rushing through giant, and otherwise important parts of the story. This ultimately forces large cuts to the MSQ. And then everyone and their mothers calls it an 11/10 because they got emotional a few times. This would have long-term, negative consequences on the game and basically tell the people running the corporation that FFXIV players are fully able to be taken advantage of/easy to please. And I don't think any of us would want that.

    While I trust Yoshida, the writers, and the devs, we shouldn't be naïve. We need to remember that at the end of the day, they answer to businessmen whose sole purpose is to earn profit while simultaneously keeping up appearances… which is exactly why we would be none-the-wiser if shortcuts were taken, and why we should try to remain objective when judging each expansion. Our feedback can literally shape the direction of this game.
