  1. this is the internet so most people probablly dont have social skills, so this is what you would call sarcasm, yes zepla was being sarcastic…..go watch the full VOD.

  2. I will say in my own experience I have played many mmo's and ff14 is probabbly the most inviting. I have over 2000hrs in the game and I can think of really only one experience in the game where someone was a complete asshole to everyone.

  3. i have been trying to complete the new extreme which result in way too many wipes and at lot of dps dying in the same mechanic all the time but weirdly or surprisingly no one blame no one

  4. They are not toxic "IN" FF14, I can tell you straight up a LOT of guilds are in their discords and other platforms. I've delt with some straight up flaming garbage eating rats. I watched my last guild master literally tell two of his friends of 8 years that they were SPITTING on the guild by not being in discord EVERY SINGLE DAY and not interacting enough. One girl was working two jobs , a boyfriend, AND moving…she barely has time to wipe her ass let alone play FF14. The other girl? Taking care of her sick grandmother in another state so she travelled a lot. He literally made a list of shit they had to do to stay in the guild. They both left and I was kicked for "jokingly" calling him toxic(His gf and everyone laughed too) as he screamed at someone in another game that they should have been aborted…Lol.
He advertised this guild as a "friendly and community growing, laid back, looking for friends" guild. Yeah. No. It was a straight hardcore with a disguise. Made you feel like the game was a job that you hated.
He couldn't keep anyone new…he went through players like I go through diapers for my kids.

If his soul had been cleansed he wouldn't be getting a divorce for being a shit human.

  5. FFXIV has that passive aggressive toxicity, you know..the kind where spineless soys have their safe spaces in discord where they cheer on misfortune of others and complain about their CIS parents.

  6. plenty of toxicity in-game, wdym? this seems like a weird take. There's toxicity all over the place; most of it just never comes to light because it's not in mainstream avenues.

  7. Im a parse whore. I parse in wow, in ffxiv, and in PoB. If I dont open a parse i play much more player friendly. Help yourselves kids. Stay away from parsing, enjoy the game and do mechanics. Don't look at the numbers.

  8. That's not even that FF14 players don't parse and do the mechanics. There are genetically programmed to do it, even if they don't have too. They can't even think by themselves.

  9. Laws don't exist to stop 100% of crime. They exist to normalize what is and isn't societally accepted behavior.
When the devs say, "Don't use dps meters", they KNOW people use meters. They KNOW that in harder content, those things get brought up as a matter of necessity (you won't clear if you can't identify why you're failing). But they say it anyway. Because it's a lot harder to be a toxic "ur dps is too low" bro when you know most other people won't back you up.
A big part of the WoW problem is that noone in authority tells rage quitters and dps-meter-assholes that they are wrong. You hop into an LFG, and you can safely assume that those people will be who you're being grouped up with. And it bleeds into every aspect of the social game, in the same way that FF14's "be an asshole, get banned" attitude seeps into so many aspects of it's social game.

  10. I left wow some months ago and started to play whm on xiv. Due wow ptsd I never talk in chat and I am still scared af of people just typing "gg" for whatever reason. But so far on xiv I'd never received a randon whisper saying bad stuff or getting critics with bad intention. Actually I feel nice and cute when I receive commendations from duty finder, shit.

  11. A couple years back when I was still playing SL, I used to do Mythic+ with three irls, and somehow we consistently managed to find toxic people to fill the last (dps) slot. If they died once (because they stood in mechanics), or anything went wrong, they'd immediately leave (or worse). We weren't even that high up on keys, either.

It's such a shock to go from that to FFXIV where you can wipe several times with a party of 8 and still not lose anyone (or have anyone tell everyone that they play sub-optimally and should uninstall/unalive themselves).

  12. There are toxic players on every Corner of ff14 and with that i mean ppl who dont want to take advice (yes i am looking mostly at you single target doton ninjas)
and for sure raiders who arent that good but have to shit on other ppl even when they do well. Had one of these guys once back in rath ex, he screamed and shouted because our casual asses played diffrently then the guide he saw (we took Aggro from the adds so our heal what has been him wont die and that after we wiped because he died on it).
He screamed and shouted and we kicked him for it.
So there are always ppl like this no matter where you look

  13. A lot of them are horrific people. The way they abused Quin, and they made annie cry insulting her because she forgot something. Novice network was cancerous too. But is there less toxicity in game? Sure, because they know they get banned for it. But you see it on twitch, twitter, YouTube etc. Some very insecure people playing that game.

  14. WoW toxicity is overly aggressive — from DPS meters to PVP, everyone is always judging someone else. FF Toxicity just comes from being overly defensive. Jesse Cox described it best "FF players defend when they don't have to." Whenever some youtuber or streamer has a criticism of class build (xenosys and tanks) or story elements, the reaction is almost always pitchforks. This trickles down to the player base, where you'll see a greater than usual amount of people have the "you don't pay my sub" mentality, and no matter how politely you try to teach them, they're like porcupines thinking you're ready to attack them. That said, the benefit of this mindset, is that you're less likely to see FF Toxicity in game. You'll see it in discord servers or in forums.

  15. I can't say I'm the cleanest person in the game. While I've never said anything in game, I've had my moments of commenting to myself of "Oh this player is bad" or "This guy is not pulling his weight" But this has typcially only been in EX or Savage stuff, and it's when it's something like a SAM or a RPR doing less then a BRD or SMN or something along that line.

Another time (And this happened to me during Shiva Savage), is seeing someone (Me) 5-10+ item levels below everyone else yet is doing significantly more damage then them. Including outdamage another player who is being fed every buff in the world (DNC, Cards, ect…)

    As I said, I've never said anything in game and make the comments to myself, but it's because I genuenly wish people to get better and would honestly love to teach, but.. given how tight and stingy the commune is at times, I can't say anything and it sucks ;=;
