  1. This cutscene is very useful as a gauge meter for me too see if people are gonna cry in the other cutscenes if you feel nothing you are gonna be a tough nut to crack but if you feel even remotely sad oh boi you are fucked lmao

  2. Zephirin de Valhourdin (the guy that threw light spear and killed Haurchefant), his attack in Thordan Extreme will also apply debuff that decreases the effect of healing. Lore-wise that's why WoL can't help Haurchefant no matter what even he/she is main healer. that wound was beyond help.

  3. I like your content a lot, man! Can't wait for Stormblood.

Allow me just a little bit of backsitting please?

You should not have Blizzard on your hotbar anymore (your hotkey 1). You should only cast Blizzard III (right next to your Limit Break) instead. It's the same spell but more damage. Blizzard is a just for lower level content (lvl 34-).

    Cheers mate, see you later!

  4. I don't know nearly enough about BLM to answer the qeustions about the various abilities. I have only played it up to level 30 so I could do the job quest. The only class I have at max level is WHM.

  5. I feel you: tolltips in FF14 are hell. I recomment watching Wesk Albar where he explains all the skills and traits. I recomment him because most other guides are for lvl90 now and BLM is… well, hats off if you can figure it out 🙂 As for Freeze: you usually use 3-4 spells in your ice-phase, and later Freeze gets an upgrade (a very important one). Also, its your its your ice AOE spell, so at the moment you use it for filler to get your 10k mana back.

Though FF14 is very… conservative when killing characters… you are never prepared. Never. But if it makes you feel better: the writers made it clear that they never just kill characters for the shocker moment or for funsies. There is always a reason behind it.

  6. What I love about this moment is how if you already know what's coming beforehand from a past play through you actually get to see all of the subtle red flags sprinkled throughout heavensward.

  7. What really messed me up about his death was that he was involved in the biggest "I really feel connected to my character" moments when I came back to the game after having dropped the game back when 2.1 went live; it was so very grindy back then holy shit. It was the cutscene when he starts gushing in his excitement to welcome your WoL and he's going on and on and the camera cuts to your WoL standing there gapping in a "WTF" kind of way. I was literally doing the exact same thing and the connection was 100% "I get this, I feel this".

He really was the embodiment of the ideals of an Ishgardian knight.

  8. During those levels, I have found freeze to be the perfect cast time to squeeze 2 cast of ice spells -> to then go back to fire phase and regen MP to full during the fire spell cast. tho im not a BLM main so thats just my experience

  9. With all respect, the way freeze (and blizzard 2) works changed with the release of Endwalker. Before Endwalker, Blizzard 2 was, well, worthless. It was a proximity AoE, like White Mage’s Holy, but without the stun effect. Freeze was pretty much an AoE version of Blizzard 3, and could just be spammed. In Endwalker, they changed that. Blizzard 2 became a ranged AoE, and Freeze became an AoE version of Blizzard 4, which meant that you actually had to go to Umbral Ice to cast Freeze.

  10. Ahh yes, the three stages of BLM movement/casting proficiency:
    – First you get hit by all the AoE's because you don't know the fights.
    – They you learn learn how to slidecast and can run out of the AoEs while still finding time to get some casts in.
    – And then the final stage: damn the AoEs, I'm not leaving my Ley Lines. Healers adjust. 😉

  11. You probably have figured out this by now, but I guess it's worth mentioning it just in case.
Freeze will not work unless you're in Umbral Ice stance. If I recall correctly off the top of my head, by that level Freeze is an AOE filler while you wait for your mana to refill, so you'd go Blizzard II into Freeze then go to Astral Fire phase.
At some point you'll get Umbral Hearts, which is a special resource that negates the MP increase from Astral Fire while retaining the potency amplifier. If I recall correctly, Freeze will get upgraded to give you 3 stacks of Umbral Heart, making it so you have to go into Umbral Ice, then Freeze to get your Umbral Hearts, then back to Fire, then AOE fire spam.
There's a single target equivalent for Freeze to get your Umbral Hearts (Blizzard IV, if I'm not mistaken), so you only ever need to use Freeze in multi-target situations.

I could be wrong because Endwalker changed a bunch of stuff and I can't double-check as I don't have my subscription running as of right now, but I'm fairly sure I'm not wrong on the use.
