  1. Yoshi has stated numerous times that he has no interest in revisiting 1.0 or creating a server for players to play it even referring to it as a nightmare in one interview. He's also mentioned that the story is really bad and not worth investing the time and manpower into creating a server for players. Literally any time it gets brought up, he looks genuinely annoyed. lol.

I think if anything it's just a way to show what the WoL has been through. The main events of 1.0 can pretty much be seen in the trailer itself and in the 2.0 trailer. The WoL starting off as a no name adventurer, meeting other adventurers, fighting dragons, etc. There are no relevant moments there because the story revolved more around the scions with your character just being there.

And in 2.0, the erasure of that era into something new and better with the important moments from 1.0 like the Gaius/Garlean saga and Midgardsormr carrying over and being explained. You literally don't need to go back to 1.0 for any reason.

  2. stares at Silvertear Lake
The trailer depicts the Battle of Silvertear Skies, where the Keeper of the Lake dungeon was created.
There might be something under the lake that Midgardsomr was trying to protect, and it may be a part of the Endwalker story.
possibly related to Hydaelyn, since this was idea for 1.0.

  3. well…maybe im being a bit to simplistic but for me it was obvious, quite fast, it s about the battle of silvertear lake. Midgardsormr was defeated while protecting the lake under Hydaelyns' instructions, meaning there s something of huge importance down there, something it will, most likely, be very important in Endwalker 🙂

  4. they aren't making a 1.0 server, its more along the line of the beginning of the WoL journey as EW is signifying the closure of that Arc. it can also be a good reference to things that may be referenced upon more within EW story regarding the lake. all in all its a good nostalgia of the beginning of many WoLs journeys of that time like WoW classic for others.

  5. There's probably nothing much to it. I assume it's just for all the newcomers to see how it was at first. But I'm keeping this into memory when I go through the Endwalker story. Maybe there's going to be something related to that

  6. 1.0 classic is absolutely not happening. (but if it was i would be ecstatic, i actually enjoyed that steaming pile of shit) what I do think is happening is all those plot threads and mysteries from the 1.0 trailer will finally be answered in endwalker, and they wanted to remind the playerbase of them.

  7. Fellow legacy player, here. Glad to see someone else appreciate this for what it is. I've been speculating the possible reasons for the repost on this, myself. And it IS a repost, in all languages. Very intentional. The 1.0 trailer, and all promo videos, behind the scenes interviews, everything up until the first Live Letter with Yoshi-P (where they were about to drop patch 1.19) was removed when ARR was on the horizon. While I was a little disappointed that they did that, I get why. When you're relaunching a brand (especially if the first attempt failed), you want to focus on the relaunch. There was no reason to confuse new players with irrelevant material. They kind of tried to get people to forget that 1.0 ever existed. But now it's safe to say that FFXIV is successful enough that we can talk about 1.0 again. Personally, it feels to me like Endwalker is going to be bringing the story full circle and it's time to remind people just where that story actually began. There are bits and pieces from this trailer and 1.0 that you start seeing in Shadowbringers and Endwalker. I think there's a slightly bigger reason to post this than to just relive old times. I think this is actually becoming somewhat relevant. But I don't think it's for any crazy reason such as to suggest a 1.0 FFXIV release. Classic WoW is a whole other thing. The game systems were different, but it was playable and went on to be successful. 1.0 suffered from so many issues, the biggest of all being a game engine inadequate for MMO use. The small group of people who liked FFXIV 1.19 is remote compared to the number of people who wanted to see Classic WoW.

  8. Here's my theory.. It looks like Ardbert in the Crystarium with his fellow Warriors of Darkness. When he picks up the leve quest card he gets hit with an echo of what is happening in the source. Basically just bringing everything full circle.
