It’s a reoccurring bit in the Final Fantasy series that the strongest weapon available is named the Ultima Weapon. So the name of the weapon used here is a reference to that

FFXVI even deepened this relation by naming a character Mythos, refering to myths/fantastical stories_ so, the Fantasy
