Savage party mitigation I've learned is all about establishing an impromptu priority system with pf people, or communicating with your static co-tank. Nothing is more harmless but annoying then realizing one Reprisal cooldown was waster because it was overwritten by your cotank.
Personally, I always try to set a precedent, especially in casual pfs, do use Reprisal on the second raid wide. If I see my cotank use Reprisal on the first, cool, I've established a priority. If I don't see it, I can watch for it during the second raid wide and see if I can adapt on those results. Most raid wides I feel come so that if both tanks consistently use Reprisal, if they start a raid with staggered usage, then the cooldowns will work naturally in your favor i.e. my Reprisal isn't off cooldown yet, so my cotank's must be ready for this one.
Nice and quick guide. All I would add is that it's more efficient to use your 30% mitigation first cause of possibility to get more uses out of it during the boss fight or dungeon.
How high over the minimum item level should I be for wall pulls?
Lalafells are so funny
Good, quick guide. Spam-able cooldowns are fun. I think a lot of people get stuck only remembering the universal/role mits. I like throwing the spam cooldowns on the MT or a healer or whoever likes to stand in AOE when I don't need it. Makes me feel like an-hero 🤪and usually earns some comms, too. I just started tanking and it's nice to see I'm already forming habits like the basics mentioned here.
I've noticed a lot of tanks have trouble with ultima unreal, mostly because there just aren't a lot of tankbusters and auto attacks are pretty frequent and hit hard.
If you find yourself in fights with not a lot of tankbusters (or you're using your invuln to deal with it), definitely look for places where you can mitigate auto attacks or other sources of damage
With your short cooldown mitigations, you can often just throw them out in-between tankbusters to shrug off some autos, raidwides, etc.
