They really wanted to go all out
thank you for the informative video liffeh smug! i could not find a reliable source of information for this ABSOLUTELY WACKY final fantasy mishap that has people COMPLETELY DERANGED AND UNHINGED.
Hell yea another banger liffeh video my day is complete 😀😀😀
i love your laugh lol
I was looking forward to your response. xD
Really trying to cash in on the recently divorced 40 – 50 year old market
When I woke up this morning I thought this was a joke…I was so wrong… like SERIOUSLY they went through all of that 😂
the viera tweet is apparently fake? cause that tweet was longer ago on a differant reason apparently.
FFXIV community wilding out this week
there's some casual racism in the reaction emoji on that discord message that you might wanna cover up at 3:33
The Vira tweet isn't actually the Vira. It someone else from a long time ago on post. It's been proven that it's not real. Sadly a lot of ppl are jumping in giving misinformation about a lot of things going on.
It's not the advertising your in game event in real life that was ever the problem, but the person's discord post makes it clear that this was not a well thought out plan, or if it was, it was very much brought up in an echo chamber with no thought as to different angles things could be seen from. It's a very real possibility that squareenix will make a total example of these guys, ffxiv is one of their biggest money makers and anything that could hurt it's image they're gonna fight against hard.
The worst part is their mod response to it. It was exceptionally unprofessional and they were dodging everyone’s valid concerns regarding NSFW content being free access, the repercussions to modders in the community, and just overall disregard to how blatantly stupid their decision was.
lmaoo. They’re all going to just chill there for a while haha
The pools closed guys were such a god damn amazing touch 😂 Bless those people
Your billboard atleast isn't a visual clusterfuk like theirs lol
FYI the Viera tweet was apparently not actually about the billboard thing and predates it.
wait theyre around my hometown. time to take a pilgrimage
I'm not normally the person to advocate bans but honestly? I hope these people do get banned. Thye acted so smug and self-assured that they'd done nothing wrong, like they were galaxybrain gigachads the likes of which YOU, mere peasant, are simply jealous of because you need a really high IQ to enjoy Rick and Morty. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Yes it works to burn down them
Listen, Liffeh, I'ma be honest with you… if it wasn't an ERP venue, and that it was stupid fun like the lalapalooza WITHOUT DATAMINED OR A MODDED SCREENSHOT WITH COPYRIGHT ETC., I think it could have been crazy and cool rather than crazy and stupid. IT COULD HAVE BEEN WHOLESOME, but it was instead sussy. Claimed to be only a couple hundred bucks per billboard though so not as crazy costly, allegedly.
The doubling down msg in the discord might be a troll as the user is mark as a new member by their group setting. This was say by a former member? of that night club whether it true or not I don't know, I just going keep watching for the end result of this festival.
my family actually owns a plot of land with billboards that ppl rent from us; I should do this. I've legit nether thought of taking advantage of it before. I wouldn't have to pay a thing
honestly, I think Square Enix is just ungrateful. So many game developers would do anything for a fanbase that loved their game so much they'd spend $12,000 to basically advertise for them. And what differentiates a great game from a legendary game is when the content crosses over to reality. And Square just shut it down. Say what you want about WoW, but they were a once legendary mmo and more so when they started popping up on the news.
Logically I'm surprised Squar Enix and didn't bring the full course of there legal team on these dam nerds because not only did they blow a huge amount of money for a waste of time billboard ad but the did so without the consent of the Squar Enix company Plus advertising a event without goin throw the proper clearance channels and If the Sqaur Enix company Yoshi-P or the Advertising ind does decide to act the investigation will go through NOT only will these nerds will be called in for hearing in the court of law Plus suffer at my guess a 12000$ fine plus additional charges for inappropriate exposure to online minors AND YES KIDS UNDER 18 DO PLAY THIS GAME from lawsuits filed on them by Yoshi-p The Sqaur Enix Company and the Billboard industry's if these fail to appear in the hearing the party and third party involved could be lookin to do my guess 3-6 Years Jail time
I don't know that they actually bought them, they might've just rented one. I heard it costs $160 to rent one. Still ridiculous.
tldr: Discord post in video was by a rando. Not the owner.
Some clarification to avoid confusion, the Discord message shown in the beginning is not the owner or any of the mods or staff members. According to an ex employee, it was just some random person.
There is a Discord post by either the owner or mod/staff that threatened to call the authorities on people though. So still didn't take it well.
Honestly, watching Mr Happy's video, they were so close to it being fine according to the ToS, if they didn't use modded stuff I'm pretty sure it'd have been all fine and nobody would have got in trouble for the billboard at least. The thing with them lying to Spofie is a whole other thing but billboard wise, SE have said it for a while and everyone knows, mods are not ToS, use them at your own discretion but keep it under wraps.
10:15 OMG That brings me back with the pool's closed memes on Habbo Hotel LOL LETSGOOOOOO
Also I just checked as of 7/8 @ 1:21am of this post and yes. They're STILL camping that house.
This entire situation is fucking hilairous!
As a native of Crystal, I know 2 of those DJs, Let's just say the one was indeed foolish for tweeting that. I will say tho the DJs had no part in the billboard according to them, it was the club owners. while this was extremely stupid, Please enjoy your visits to our data center! We are a lot of fun and have been enjoying all the tourism lol. See you in Limsa Zalera! ^.^
Just a quick insight to what potential lawsuits they are facing:
– Intellectual Property Rights Infringement; Misuse of data-mined and illegal modification of game files
– Affiliation Fraud; Utilisation and application of Square Enix's trademark and Final Fantasy XIV's logo without proper permit, falsely leading people to unknowingly believe that they are in anyway part of the company or affiliated with the company in an official way
– Contractual Breach; Players are required to agreeing to a Terms & Condition clause when signing up for accounts, by agreeing to these terms & conditions, it places the player under a contract with the company in which they will abide by the rules set by the company
– Trademark Infringement; Using the Square Enix and Final Fantasy XIV trademark without permission
– (Potential) Lost Profit Damages; Potential loss of revenue and faith from parents that are paying the subscriptions for their children to play
– Defamation; self-explanatory.
So, to the twitter response from DJ Potate stating that: "I want everyone here to know that legally a team went over the poster and IDK how many of you in here are lawyers but according to the people i talked to who paid for and checked everything was in fact 100% legal." I'd suggest they hire a better legal team.
