Final Fantasy 14 2021. In this video I hope to help you decide: Should you play Final Fantasy XIV in 2021. Is FFXVI worth it in 2021? This is my first impressions video for Final Fantasy XIV to start out the new year. Should this be your MMO?

During the video I discuss Final Fantasy 14 free trial on both PS4 and on PC. I discuss the gameplay, the Shadowbringers update and show the Final Fantasy online MMO gameplay along with my first impressions.

I hope you find the video useful. Thank you for watching.

  1. Can I ask how do you all move run turn in ff14? Coming from gw2 where I was ab,e to lock view with left alt and free rund and turn with mouse smoothly. There i have to press and hold right mouse button to be able to do that.. already swapped QE – AD around as I don't know what real QE is used for as if you running without mouse right pressed in and try turn with Q or E, screen turns are not smooth at all compare to mouse. When you fighting, to move around without right mouse button is so confusing.. or is it just me and you have to get used to it? Anyone else always holds right mouse button in?

  2. Excuse me but how can you decide if a MMO is worth playing with a first impressions video?! Like it could be shit at the start but great in endgame or the other way around.. You can't know any of that tho from a few hours into the game..

  3. As someone who has played the game for a few years now, have all jobs at 80, got mentor status, got over 11000+ achievement points accumulated and have played endgame, my initial opinion of the game was really good when i started, while i was leveling climbing up to 80, experiencing the story, doing special job related quests and bunch of side activities, doing some hunts and treasure maps and just messing about doing other minor activities(granted the combat was super poor due to no abilities and crazy long GCD, it gets better at endgame but the GCD is still there unless you add skillspeed materia to everything).

But that good feeling sadly started to subside heavily once i reached the endgame and realized just how bad and bland it is(especially in SHB, its been terrible and boring).

-Most of the "raids" are literally just boss encounters. Normal raids are literally just boss fights, Alliance raids are boss fights where you run through corridors to the next one.
-The gear chase is not there, you can literally buy the newest crafted gear off the MB and do endgame with it. If you do want BIS, be prepared for it to be worthless the next patch.
-The gear upgrades in this game are literally just few numbers going up and your ILEVEL. No cool set bonuses, nothing like that.
-No special cool loot drops as carrots on a stick to motivate you(at most theres some transmog pieces, minions, music scrolls, few mounts and even the ultima weapons look bad).
-You dont need an FC for anything in this game, its actually one of the most single player MMOs ive ever played, i know this because ive never been in one myself, never needed it.
-Weird design choices in many places that make you scratch your head as to what they were thinking and why. Such as gaining new relic materials in OLD raids.
-Heavy RNG nature of some activities that force you to keep doing the same thing over and over again(fuck the Faux hollows, Wondrous tails and their Kupo stamps).
-The neverending weekly/daily grind.(SE even artificially halts and caps your progress so you cant get new tomestones before weekly reset).

    and ofc…

-The PVP clownfiesta that is just atrociously designed(whoever thought the 1v1v1 idea with the GCs was a good idea, needs to be fired) and its even worse now when they gave everyone a crapton of healing potions and forced the freelancing on, making Grand companies lose all their worth, when before there was a feeling of fellowship and camaderie when playing in your GCs colors. It was a mess back then too, but at least it was somewhat enjoyable. Now theres none of that and its just people AFKing at base waiting to get their daily bonus experience/tomes, people zerging around at the enemy base, not giving a toss about objectives or about anything and just running around like headless chickens. Its the worst and most frustrating PVP experience ever.

As a bonus, add the super weird/cringy/gross/disturbing weeb filled community to all this, and its just not very good of a recipe to try and spend your evenings at. This game seems to cater and be made mostly for RPers and other cringy weirdos who just want to socialize in the games world, as sometimes it feels like they keep adding more RP stuff, like wings, umbrellas, poses, housing shit, screenshot stickers etc. to the game, compared to actual real game content. But to me and i believe to many, those features are NOT actual content. Its just very minor pointless extra, and the developers could have spent that time making something else thats more worth it.

And now i kinda wish someone had informed me about all this, while i was leveling up, while also telling me about its lackluster endgame. Hell, i might have stopped playing back then and there, because now it feels like ive wasted few years of my life to this, and i just log in because ive spent so much time in it. Its starting to feel more and more like a second job…

Granted, i shouldve seen it coming earlier myself when i was doing the previous expansions endgames, the repeating formula was there in plain sight and i guess i always thought it would evolve and get better in the newer expansions, but it just never did, in fact, in some cases it has actually devolved and gotten worse.

Welp, if some new player reads this wall of text, thinking about giving FFXIV a shot, ima give you the warning i wish i had gotten. Dont expect much of the lategame, its terrible and considering the pvp is also terrible, thats not a good recipe for long-term playing. But hey, at least the leveling up phase is decent(once you actually get some abilities…) and if you enjoy listening to a bunch of creepers, weirdos and weebs cybering each other over and over again in the main cities, this game is definitely for you.

  4. It’s Very Slow At First Start, But Once You Start Getting Into The Swing Of Things, It Starts Picking Up The Pace A lot💪🏾! I’m A Level 47 Ninja Right Now😁! So Please Keep On Playing😁. It’s Worth It💪🏾😁

  5. I call bs on 20 mill players but I do believe there may be a lot of em. On steam the game doesn’t even reach a 50/100k so if this game actually for 20 mill then it’s got more following than mobile games which isn’t possible.

  6. Thanks for this. I've never played an MMO before and am very new to PC gaming. I'll be honest, until I watched your video I was having a difficult time getting excited about this game, but now that I've seen it played, I am pretty stoked to try it out.

    Also, your cat is awesome.

    Thanks!

  7. Good reviews? Unless you're a healer…this game has the worst healing experience than any other mmo on the market. Enjoy spamming 1 button endless to dps through quest content (most of the game)? FF14 healer jobs are for you! Get ready to cast Broil 10,000 times a week and call it fun!

  8. I'm newly interested in this game and currently downloading the free trial while I watch this, the only thing that turns me off from this game from what I have seen is that you have to buy the game and THEN pay monthly instead of just a subscription based game or buy the game and thats it. If anyone can tell me if this game is fully worth doing so and can give some reasons I would appreciate it btw I liked the video <3

  9. not for me. I don't like it when games wont allow the option to skip its lore in order to play the actual game. why would i want to learn about a fictional world when I hardly care enough to learn about the real one?
