Glad to see someone with such an extensive rpg background is able to give a great take on FF14. btw Preach in case you are confused why you are surrounded by all these people it is because most of us have been watching you for years since WoW and your opinion has been spot on for years.
2:18:40 That's the moment right there. I had no idea that this game's story would overtake Divinity's in Mike's book and I am SALIVATING to hear him elaborate on it in a video review. Preach always has great and well thought-out takes in the moment, but it's not until it's organized in a video script where he's allowed to linger on an idea where it truly comes together. We need that series to continue on the main channel.
In some private schools here in the US debate is required but most of the time it is optional/after school activity/etc. I took Philosophy Club after school in high school and we had open debates, it was REALLY fun and gave me a better sense of how to view things from other peoples' perspectives rather than just my own. I personally believe it should be required for all high schoolers/maybe even middle schoolers in order to cultivate a society of critical thinkers.

To answer your fascination in interspecies shenanigans within this universe, children of interspecies couples generally tend to go after their mother, they may have some unusual characteristics, not exact copy of their mothers race, in hilda's case, her mom being hyur, she's hyur sized and resembles one quite well, but still has characteristic elezen knife ears, or offspring between au'ra mother and something else generally results in au'ra with less scales/shorter tails, for example, and I suppose a mix between miqo'te female and hyur male would result in pretty generic miqo'te offspring, perhaps shorter tail or something like that, but otherwise all after mom. But there's nothing crazy like end result being roe sized lalafell or fur covered elezen, depending on your outlandish pairings. At least according to my limited knowledge on the subject.
