  1. I agree with your take. Forcing new players to start at ARR will be incredibly rough. Coming back to it and playing through it if you like FF14, the gameplay, and etc would be great. However starting with it in todays current pacing of games and ETC would be brutal. I mean compare FF16 with FF6 or say FF7 Remake with FF7. Unless you're 100% committed to the story which, how are you suppose to if you don't know anything about the story/Franchise? Good luck….. I know Baldurs gate 1 and 2 are great games, but I have no inclination to play them…… Too little time in my life to be playing super old games that I don't have memories of. I'll be playing Baldurs Gate 3 once I get a proper Desktop. Congrats on your weight loss, I need to work on mine….

  2. In short, No. They feature the Scions in Dawn Trail, who all have long histories and backstories, and are integral to the story elements of the game and probably for Dawntrail.
If people want to skip ARR-EW, they can already do that by paying $$ for a level/scenario skip and just jump right into endgame raiding if that's their thing. But I've been playing this game since v1.0 and seeing the new players who do the $$ story/level skip, and just want to do the endgame stuff, they are often confused as to "Why" we are doing this stuff.

And IMHO, there is WAAAY too much story content to try to stuff it into an single season of Anime or some other form to be consumed at leisure (which also takes a lot of time/money to produce).

  3. Xbox players can do what they want, but personally I'd recommend them experience the MSQ for themselves, I know it can be a rough push but I never regreted going through MSQ when I started, luckily there's duty support if the queues are long some things were made a bit better in ARR, but I suppose it's more so they learn how the mechanics works in the game as they journey through it, it's definitely worth it taking their time in, especially if they're new to that mmorpg experience too

  4. NO !!! 😂 But for real if you really enjoy epic stories I'm sure you will enjoy it.

If you just want to raid and the like a skip would get you there faster

  5. The simple answer is no. Like what the heck lol about to make player miss out on a lot of adventures this is exactly why it doesn’t have crossplay or crosssave yet. So Xbox players catch up.

  6. I don’t get that why skip leveling to boost or jump your character instead of starting from scratch and start adventuring makes the game content pointless then add they won’t understand or know their job or role . I have a bigger fear is Square Enix Bluemages the up coming jobs.

  7. It’s a yes and no. If they have friends to help them and they don’t care for story yes. If they care for story then no.

They are not providing a new leveling system with this new expansion. All MSQ dungeons will be trust enabled and they are looking at trials

  8. If they're going to make a new onboard starting point, this is the time and place to do it. New world, new story. old story is completely solo-able with trusts. It would be really interesting if the dialog reflected that. Like how 1.0 players have a few different dialogs than the rest of us.

  9. Given that it's coming to Xbox months before Dawntrail launch, I think it'd be foolish to announce an included skip for Dawntrail. Plenty of time to get through the MSQ in that time. At the end of the day skips are going to continue to be available whether we like it or not.
