Shared FATE is Awesome and Fun – Getting Every Achievement in FFXIV #42

It’s Shared FATE time again! I’m finally taking on the rest of the Dawntrail zones and level Machinist to 100. Will we live to see the end? Probably. And will we have another perfect excuse to procrastinate the savage raid tier? Absolutely.

  1. Yeah in 8.0 we're going to have a zone where we explore a dead civilization's memories and then the end boss is the physical manifestation of some total loser's inner demons. It's worked for the last three expansions, why stop now?

  2. For next expac, something you can do to speed it up is do the first 1-2 waves of a killfate with a geared max level char, and then switch to whatever you want the exp on. Goes much faster, and you learn some really random stuff, like how paladin's Fight or Flight shares a cooldown with Astro's Essential Dignity.

  3. If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, the chocobo companion system needs a massive overhaul. They should be on par with trusts as far as utility and capability. They need more abilities, or at least new fresh abilities, and better AI for moving out of shit.

  4. I am currently catching up on the shared fate grind as well. Finished Shb sometime earlier this week and tomorrow I have to do the last 30 Ew ones. After that I will be tackling the Dt ones. My, it will be so nice being done with them. Still not so sure what I wanna do next…

  5. I don't think the chocobos can maintain threat in DT content. I'm constantly out-aggroing it whenever I play a DPS job (with poor, unoptimized rotations), so I'm mostly doing DT FATEs on tanks unless I'm in a group.
Also I do suggest using NG+ (for any chapter) to change the way the final zone looks.

  6. Kentucky Fried Healer prefers to stand next to you by default, before casting any heals. Any movement will cause the bird to stop healing to move next to you again.

As stated by others, companion AI needs a bit of an overhaul, or at least spend a semester in Kentucky Fried College.
