I actually figured all of this the first time I did tanking. To me everything was self-explanatory, but im a long time MTG player… I go by the saying "reading is tech".
Healing – recover the damage done Shields – preventing the damage done (how much it prevents depends on how big is shield) Mitigation – reducing damage done
More or less in line with what I've experienced. As a WAR, when I a Holmgang a tankbuster, I always feel a little dirty when the WHM then goes to Bene me while the boss is going into mechanics stuff and not even hitting me anymore. I got this! I would be interested to know what Xeno considers the +20% Max HP on Thrill of Battle. It does function as a heal, but increasing Max HP also accomplishes what he described as the role of shielding. It falls down on that front, though, if you spend the entire time below max HP so don't take advantage of the increased health pool.
It normally says "barrier" if its a shield. Feint is a melee dps mit while ranged has their own learned skill. Arms length can also be used as mit for mobs as it will apply Slow The red marker doesn't always appear in previous patches either especially in dungeons
I always thought shielding is a form of mitigation since both are softening the damage
You are great but this guy is boring.

I watched this the other day and only improved my tanking knowledge. Warrior is best healer job 😏
