Stuck in my head already
Have to admit, even though I stopped playing the game, FFXIV has some of the best music of any game I have ever played.

Yes, I love symphonic metal, aka Nightwish, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Epica, etc. So yeah, this song really got my vibes going.
AKINO the singer of this song is a Japanese/American musician who with her Siblings bless4, did the soundtracks for a Mecha Anime Franchise from 18 years ago called "Aquarion". She hasnt done much other than this franchise but she has one of the most recognizable voices out there.
"Genesis of Aquarion" and "Aquarion EVOL" are anime series about the Cycle of Rebirth with amazingly gorgeous soundtracks.

There's two versions of this song. "Scream", and the lyricless "Silent Scream", which has a few more instruments and choral elements (primarly humming) substituting.
The songs play in the newly released 4-boss raid-series. "Silent Scream" for 1st boss, and "Scream" for 2 & 3.
The 4th boss has its own theme, which isn't that good tbh, except for its extreme difficulty-theme "White Stone Black" – that one's quite a banger.
I really enjoy that wry smile you do in the first few seconds of a song, when you instantly realise why that song gets requested so much. Great video as always!

The song is so nice even when you know on what is based of. The hole raid is based on the Epos Pandemonium which is a other world for Hell which they also use in the Song. And the way the change the PoV from the Player in the song is also so good placed, the want to suck you in Pandemonium and they want you to become a demon aswell etc…..such a good song
I'd disagree on the "14 sound". It has always had an eclectic soundtrack form, the beginning. Also there is an instrumental version of this called Silent Scream.

They absolutely time the music to match fight choreography! Ishikawa who was the lead writer of Shadowbringers and Endwalker made Soken redo a part of "To The Edge" so it would match perfectly to the fight down to the second pretty much.
Also you sweet summer child, there's still so much more music from XIV. 😏

There are definitely points in fights that line up with the music, and they'll also have transitions in some fights to different songs mid battle sometimes. They don't do it in every fight, but some fights line up specifically with music.
Just to mix things up a bit, I'm gonna reccomend the Safi'jiiva theme from Monster Hnter World. It's definitely one of the coolest boss themes in any game I've played. It goes on a journey, so pick the extended if you do listen to it.
The real question is, will this song or "in the balance" get a live performande with the otamatone at the next fanfest?

The one track you didn’t care for has a lot more story importance and it’s something you have to experience with the story. But also…. We get new tracks every 4 months. We will be getting a few new ones very soon.

There's a version of this put together with Going Under by Evanescence and it's amazing =)
There's a mashup where someone pretty seemlessly mixed Scream and Going under from Evanescence I recommend checking out in your spare time, it's another ear worm.
Been waiting for this reaction. Love this song. I listen to this song for about 3 hours a night, 3 nights a week while trying to raid these two fights. The rest of the people in my group are starting to get sick of it, but I fucking love it. I will still listen to it at work.

This is one of my all-time favourite game music!
Just to add a little detail about the video. The video from HungryChad is mixing both the 6th (Hegemone, the tentacle lady) and 7th (Agdistis, the tree lady) and did a pretty cool job of it too. This is honestly my favorite song of 6.2 because it's so… addictive. The theory crafting of the lyrics before the official lyrics was fun, it's very catchy, and it has what's my favorite edgy lyric of FF-14 with "Buried alive in the coffin of who I used to be" is just so awesome.

I’m glad you waited for like the clearing, it also let the lyrics get officially released, the lyric videos that got fan-made by ear got a decent percentage off, including the very first line
i actually like that all songs in the game are looped insanely well for every fight/dungoun, there is not a single song that has this"it looped right here" thinking, sure after 10 times you know the loop, but every first time of a song is just a own experience on how long it is, how it sounds ect.

One of my favorite tracks from the game is Beauty's Wicked Wiles. If you liked "In The Balance", I think you'd like it, too.
