  1. Oh boy, wait till you hear "Flow" and "Close in the distance". Actually, scratch that. The entire OST is so amazing in Endwalker. Soken is a force to be recognized in the music creation department.

  2. This is so classic visual kei to me it's not even funny. Malice Mizer obviously gets referenced a lot by people and I'd even say a bit of X Japan, but translated into video game form after being filtered through Michiru Yamane's Castlevania sound.

  3. Since the Endwalker OST isn't out yet (releasing on 23 Feb), we don't know who made this song. My guess is Soken himself. It's very fitting for his style and his experimental nature. As for who's singing, I'm not sure. Doesn't sound like any vocalist that we've heard before in FFXIV. But I have a feeling that the filter is so convincing that it sounds like a new person but it's actually Soken singing himself. The supporting background singers might be a combination of Koji Fox, Soken and maybe a few other staff members.

  4. You were mentioning OSP‘s kind of following a theme but this game doesn’t. In a way it kind of does. Each expansion has its own theme associated to it, and as time goes on later in the expansions, while the theme is kept for the most part, they kind of incorporate scenes from older expansions into it at certain points, or you’ll hear a seam from an earlier expansion but it’s been redone in almost kind of an upgrade.

EndWalker is the fourth expansion to the game so they have a lot of different music arts to draw from. It’s kind of actually pretty neat to recognize older scenes within the context of the newer style. The way they were able to incorporate a theme from three expansion to go but at the same time make it feel like it belongs in the new area is pretty impressive.

  5. Not gonna lie, while I do enjoy the song it does take a long time to endear itself to you because you're going to hear it once then yeah it doesn't stand out a lot but when you listen to it a lot, especially because people like to run into the spike walls and wipe, then you soon find yourself doing what I do which is nod along to it and mouth/sing the "Pan-de-mo-nium" part every time it pops up.

Would like to add that this is indeed Phase 1 of this fight as the final fight per raid tier has a 2nd phase that can only be experienced in Savage difficulty. Sadly the music doesn't change in Phase 2 plus his Phase 2 is sadly underwhelming outside of the stage change.

  6. I love listening to this song more and more the more I listen to it.
The music is really taking some inspiration from Castlevania's gothic rock fusion but I like the cheerful tone because the song is sung from the monster's perspective. A man succumbing to dark desires and revelling in it, inviting the player to basically join the hedonistic, animalistic dark side.
The deranged lyrics clash perfectly with the catchy music and you find yourself singing along sooner than later, basically succumbing to the dark, feral influence yourself.

  7. It's not a bad song but it's not a classic to me. I wouldn't often go out of my way to listen to it. But I do think that it's a good raid song in-game. Since it's more ambient you can listen to it nonstop for a few hours while you die repeatedly haha. It's also a riff on the previous songs in the raid tier so you've already spent hours listening to different mixes. It being more upbeat also helps keep your spirits up as you fail nonstop for potentially weeks haha

  8. Hey Jesse, I was wondering if you will react to Fate series ost. I'm especially anticipated for OST called "She holds the black holy sword", which has really interesting resemblence of "Absolute Configuration'" from Madoka Magika. I don't know if its just me, so would really like to hear your opinion if you ever will listen to these!
