  1. Mostly checking out Summoner, as that's all I really know! …And here I was, all proud of myself for starting to get the hang of my not-even-level-80 rotation Well shit.

  2. As a year and a half 'veteran', who is caught up on everything in the game, I can confidently tell you that my class analysis also boiled down to "ooh that's cool, oh wow look at the colors!", lots of sick things coming to all the jobs it seems like, I'm really gonna make use of the whole 'you can be every class on your character' thing. Warrior looks sick, my main white mage is getting some weird plant stuff, summoner looks INCREDIBLE, can't wait.

  3. I started playing SMN for a bit since I ran out of stuff to do a few months ago. And I can tell you I played it more than enough to lose my shit when I saw the reveal; now that's what I call a freaking summoner!

  4. soph is more excited about summoner then cobrak lol

regarding the the dots remove im having mix feeling i like the dots and the ability to spread it but at times feels kinda boring to play thats just me though and you mention bout going to bard bard also has some dots and the ability to up keep it unless it got change i didnt watch all of the live letter because it was to long and went to sleep going

  5. The plant was an enemy :p Although if you look at the other character during the Sage, at one point you see the Sage damaging the plant, and the damage was also healing the other player at the same time!

  6. I guess I can understand how someone new to the game might feel weird about how much Summoner is changing in 6.0 but for those of us who've played Summoner since 2.x we already know that the job gets re-worked every expansion WITHOUT FAIL! The number of dots has actually beending trending down since Heavensward so them getting rid of them completely and focusing exclusively on evoking the abilities of primals isn't completely unexpected as people have been clamoring for Summoner to feel more like a Summoner in other Final Fantasy games. I'm personally pretty happy with current Summoner as I use it all the time but I'm also pretty hyped to check it out in its new version. This change actually makes bard even more unique as it'll be the only DPS that really focuses on dot damage. That being the case, I kind of hope that Bard gets the ability to more easily spread their dots to multiple targets which has always sucked on Bard but made Summoner a king on AOE pulls. If they give it that then I would probably play it slightly more often than I do now (which is never as I just leveled it to 80 and never touched it again).

  7. Honestly, as cool as the SMN re-work is, and how cool the new jobs look… I'm honestly most interested in Monk, Astro and Scholar.

Monk, cause I use to main it back in HW, after my beloved BRD was ruined by cast timers…
Ast and Scholar, because I've been playing a lot of Healer recently. Ast is my least used Healer job, it's looking hella cool though. And I hope it's a return to HW SCH, where you were OP AF, where you were out-DPSing DPS mains lol…

  8. The jobs I actively play – DRK, WHM, NIN and RDM. I try to have one job per role/type. And except for DRK which I am "whelmed" by, I'm pretty excited about what I saw for other 3. NIN, my first ever main job really got me hyped with its new jutus; a ranged wind based one and a gap closer lightning Chidori-like attack.
BRD is also my ranged DPS of choice, but it doesn't get much action. It's a really pretty job, I appreciate that it's more of a priority than having an outright rotation. I'm crossing my fingers that Shadowbite gets a trait that spreads DoTs now; like Bane. Because that is also one thing missing from BRD.

  9. You guys can play the same class, it is perfectly fine and you get a bonus for it. The plant in the Sage thing was an enemy… Sage looks like it plays like a Discipline Priest with healing through DPS.

  10. As someone who's been a Summoner main since FFXI Rise of the Zilart (base game for NA players, first expansion for JP players) and a Summoner main since phase 4 beta of FFXIV ARR (the earliest you could play SMN in XIV), this makes me very happy.

  11. I think I'm the opposite of your situation. I mained Summoner from ARR launch through the beginning of ShB, but never really loved it. I wanted a proper Final Fantasy summoner, but instead got something that was part that and part WoW warlock. So I'm really happy to see it move completely over to FF summoner. I've been playing a bit of everything (MCH main) lately, but with this I'm definitely going to give SMN a try in Endwalker. It might end up being my favorite again. 😀
