What the game also needs is more mentors who can ease newcomers into the game itself, and not just immediately bombard them with Balance Discord this and meta rotations that.
One advice I would have for anyone considering raiding, actually practice your rotation against a training dummy or the stone sea and sky dummies.
Practice for a bit each day, till you feel comfortable enough to keep it running mostly smooth even when things get hairy, or while talking with raid members.
Actual raiding feels so different from the scuffed dungeon runs, and is more of an endurance run than anything else.
Eventually it'll be easier to make judgment calls with your cooldowns, and not stressing about your rotation.
Even as a healer it can be good to do, so that you keep important skills like Assize constantly running, or aetherflow.
llamatodd seems like such a down to earth dude – I can totally see why people see him as a great coach. Just good vibes.
One of the issues. People dont want to learn how to play the game. And tbh. A large part of the community indirectly defends this.
I feel like a WoW mage tower style of content would be great to have once an expansion. Make a challenging single player thing that tested your skills in the role with enough variation to make you think on your feet and understand why you're doing something. Maybe require it done on min ilvl for the most interesting reward.

cut the length in half, but give us 2x at once
