That's a recurring problem to be honest.The normal modes are usually pretty easy. Square Enix probably had a harder fight in mind at first, but they had to water it down a bit since it's part of MSQ, and it has to be accessible for everyone. If you want a challenge, you should try the Extreme versions. (or Savage for raids)

use party finder, min echo if you want a longer fight
The content at this point needs to be so simple literally multiple people could be afk and still clear. I'd recommend making a Party finder with "First time!" and make it min ilvl silence echo for a fun experience. Won't be much harder but will be longer, and generally people will enjoy helping.

There's a few more mechanics during that fight than just the three. Having not seen the whole fight, I assume you just weren't targeted for them or ignored them.
Definitely recommend the Susano extreme fight. Also playing as a tank and having to take the sword hit is very fun, though youre right, not too hard. I think people just really like the cinematic nature of the fight and the personality of the primal ^^

Indeed quite easy as most story content, definitely should try the harder versions to challenge yourself ! You can still let some people die if you don't free them from rocks or just fail the sword blocking QTE though 😉

Normal content is kinda easy on purpose to allow more casual people to clear and still enjoy their story! The extremes and savages are there for people who want the fights with more spice 😀
(Plus get a wolfy mount in the process maybe!)
That underwhelming feeling is not going to change: the last fight of Endwalker, the fight to end all fights, the crowning of 10 years of story is so easy that you skip entire phases. It's actually a good suggestion that on your first run you open a PF and do it in MINE settings so that it doesn't feel like a cakewalk.
Love this Fight no matter how easy it is. Get's even better in the extreme version.
I have to say… HOW did you know I have had that Wopper song stuck in my head for a week?! Out of all the songs you could have chosen, to pick that one! 😅 Fun video! And yeah, I just assume the Extreme's are closer to the REAL fight and the MSQ's are just the summerized versions.
