  1. I pay my sub every month to keep my large plot and only log in about twice a month. Sorry I’m keeping the plot off the market, but as a 9 year vet and have 80mil worth of items in there, yeah, I’m paying rent!

  2. I lost my medium but to be fair I felt so relieved. I wasn't chained to the game anymore and could take a longer break.
I think if FC's were in wards and private houses should be instanced. Also I want a cabin in the woods, my WoL would have totally have build one while waiting to get to the first.

  3. I lost 6 houses. 4 small, 2 medium (probably the 2 best med plots in the game). All of that trying to make money to play FFXIV while the game was shitting on me with that bs.

Now I can't even get a house because of the dumb lottery system.

  4. The best solution would be to make the the timer way more punishing, reduce the gil cost, and make it so your housing data is stored rather than deleted when demolished. That way you don't have to feel bad when your house is demolished because when you decide to play again it's cheap and your housing data is there. RN we have an issue where people won't let go of their houses because, validly, they don't want to lose all their customization. If you didn't lose housing data people would just let their house get demolished and the actually active players would get to have a house.

If you're going to have a limited resource like that, you want it to change hands often, not be something people refuse to ever let go of. Otherwise we have to fundamentally remove the limited nature of housing (instances) which just would not be as fulfilling to a good half the players.

  5. The timer is way too short. Should AT LEAST be 3 months. 45 days it's ridiculous and it's the sole reason I still haven't purchased a plot in my almost decade long time I've played this game.

The limit of housing has nothing to do with it. It's just an excuse like the "PS3 limitations" excuse. They just don't want to introduce more plot or prolong the timer because they know A LOT of people resub monthly just because they own a plot. It's not like they'd have to redesign the entire thing anyways, as every ward is just a copy paste of each other's. So it's not even a case of the devs having to build stuff from the ground up.

The funny thing is that not even guest have the ability to reset the timer. That's further proof that the timer being so short is simply there by design. It's not exactly 30 days, it's not exactly 60, it's right smack in the middle to keep you hooked for an extra month, because if you only pay 1 month sub you'd end up losing it.

  6. It feels like a hard-lock system to keep your sub. They could implement instanced housing with a CWLS type system to "join" neighbourhoods, so the other houses appear static each time you log in. If you're not in a neighbourhood CWLS then the houses in the ward other than your own, autofill with spots of other online (or offline) players. This way you have instanced housing and a neighbourhood that is busy if you want it, since current wards are ghost towns with one or two other players running around.

  7. I do agree with what you are saying 100%. But what do you do in your house? Do FC members actually hang out there? Do you go to your house to do anything? I love housing. I love decorating. But much like the Isle, there is nothing to do in your house but decorate and take screenshots. If you roleplayed… yeah I can see you using it a lot. But if you have a personal… and an FC… where are people going to go? They go to the FC. Honestly when I am in housing districts, I very very rarely see anyone in them and I am on Mateus.

  8. Personal housing should be either instanced (like apartments) or non-existent. Plots should only be ownable by an FC across all wards. And EVERYONE should have to pay a small gill fee every week (rent). They can even make a little piggy bank in the house that you can put gil into that the rent will be taken from automatically. And even with these changes, we will still not have enough plots :]

  10. The biggest reason I wanted a house was because of gardening and the cross breeding plants. If they can add the ability to farm to your sanctuary then I wouldn’t need to worry about houses and that can be said about everyone else. The only reason housing would be nice is to decorate and to show off to your friends who will never visit the plot again. 😂

  11. In LotRO you have to pay a Rent too, with less Neigbourhood in the districts. In ESO you can have lots of Houses. In GW2 they just started the Homestead, it's a personal Instance which is really large, wide open, you can upgrade it with lots of stuff, and create Jumping Puzzles, and decorate everything, even with up to 30 of your own personal Chars. Atm just 4 ppl can join you there, but we hope for the larger Squads 10/50 ppl. You can enter your Homestead from almost everywhere and from the Homestead you can exit to the new Area Kodan Lowlands with your other lvl 80 Chars even without having started the Story, its a great convenience too. But once I have got it, it will stay the way I have left it.

  12. Well my two houses are gonna get demolished. It's pathetic that the ONLY reason I feel like I wanna stay subbed right now is to not lose the houses in case I ever do feel like returning… But it's not worth it.

  13. It's interesting that they are so insistent on their neighbourhood feel when none of their open worlds since Stormblood had anything that makes you genuinely want to explore in them. CBU3 since Stormblood has been defined by their insistence on dying on weird hills.

  14. I tell people the same thing that ESO has better housing. I MISS my yard in ESO. I spent consecutive days building a beautiful garden in
Ravenhurst? (been a decade since I last played but it was a smaller house with a bigger yard).

I think they should keep the housing, expand apartments, add to island sanctuary, and more residential areas. Also, expand capacities for housing and glam but I’m not holding my breath on that one.

I think we’ll see more out of island sanctuary in the future but I love my home and my neighbors are pretty cool. We wave and move on. I just like having my own part of the game. I like to just hang out at my house and admire the home I built. I put a lot of time, care, and soooooooo many millions into that home lol

  15. I hate how newer players act like leaving more than 45 days is a huge ask. Some of us have been playing for a decade and being forced to pay virtual rent to not lose an arbitrarily limited house sucks. I just resubbed today to keep mine and I'm not even going to play.

"Haha. You're not using it, someone else can enjoy it!"

Get bent, I've had my Shirogane plot since I got up at like 5AM on release day. I'm not giving it up lol and newcomers belittling or downplaying it need to get checked. God forbid I want to take a 2-3+ month break from the game in the span of a literal decade.

  16. A few thoughts:
    – Instanced housing would be a cool addition. Maybe you still can only own one house and you have to choose instanced vs neighborhood. Over time, the players who prefer instanced will filter out of wards, and maybe they can be condensed to the point that everyone who does prefer that feel gets to enjoy it together. There would be fewer wards, but the ones that are left would be far more lively.
    – Unique apartments would be VERY cool. Imagine like a loft apartment??? It would probably be very hard, if not impossible, to add unique balconies to each apartment in existing apartment buildings, but an easier implementation might be something like a shared rooftop lounge where you can go hang out?
    – I haven't engaged a ton with Sanctuary, but it definitely sounds like the implementation left a lot to be desired… hopefully they can overhaul it a little; I would love for it to be something really enjoyable!
