  1. By busy he might means that there's loads of things you have to check.
BLM isn't busy in an ogcd or apm but you definitely have to watch more things than a RDM / SMN. Like these two are much more laidback in term of rotation and effectiveness.

  2. How to buff DRK: give bloodweapon 100% lifesteal for the entire duration for both GCD and oGCD.
Make quietus and bloodspiller have 100% life leech.

DRK in other FF-titles had huge self-healing capabilities through damage output, as well as giving it the ability to very linitedly but powerfully cast non-elemental magic.
And with WARs absolutely ridiculous self-healing capabilities, as well as PLDs ability to sustain himself indefinitely, it would give DRK the much-needed self-sustain other jobs have but DRK doesn’t.

Not sure how I feel about GNB though…

  3. PLD was my first experience actually main tanking in EW because I wanted to get into tanking and I really liked how PLD looked in the trailer, my playthrough felt great, but definitely noticed it wasn't strong, can't wait for it's buff, hopefully a respectable amount.

  4. I think it'd be great for you to cover in a video at some point the topic "What makes GOOD TANK JOB design?" from the perspective of Savage Raiding and Ultimates. You talk about this in little bits here and there in some of your videos but I do think that the reason why there are so many disagreements with regards to what is "good" and "bad" with regards to tanks is that people don't necessarily have the same answer to this question. It's weird to see non-savage raiding players arguing with savage raiders about why their job is good/bad when they're talking about 2 different playing scenarios. 🤔

  5. As a Dragoon main it hurts to play drg since I'm forced to use multiple animation lock jumps just to dish out dps instead of using them to gapclose or generally move around. I don't feel like I have freedom to move around despite having 3 instant gapclosers and elusive jump. If they removed potencies from Spineshatter Dive but kept 2 charges I feel like that would increase immensely the quality of life for dragoons. I've been slowly playing more and more reaper because I know I'm not punished for using my gapcloser and its always there if I need to move quickly.

  6. What I would like to see in the game are changes to the gear system. Gear needs to be relevant despite updates/expansions.
A realm reborn gear should scale with the new levels so that they are reusable. All the gear need to have unique buffs/traits to Introduce customisation and build diversity. No tank should be the same with respect to builds. I hated grinding for gear that ended up becoming obsolete due to new content. Cosmetics are fun but they can only last so long. I enjoy ff14 but the grinds are just pointless once a new expansion, dungeon or whatever gets released. I want to be able to use gears and their treats to lean towards damage, health, or procs and maybe a balanced build between traits. The fact that 2 tanks grinding the same content will always be the same and if u memorize the mechanics, then the skill of the player is the same too. These are just my thoughts and I think a new system is needed to promote the choice of creativity in builds. I find myself quitting ff14 every 3 to 4 months before coming back the following year. It gets boring and monotonous.

  7. Wait what, why should sam top blm in adps? isn’t blm harder to play + pull off good numbers and has higher personal dps and with endwalker blm cds align with party buffs now

  8. Honestly love how Sam feels now man so many quality of life fixes it’s easy to recover when you whiff a rotation and adjust rotations for fights super easy so glad we’re getting a buff in damage

  9. Nah, hard disagree. Been a DRK main since HW and it fucking sucks right now. Yes, big damage, but I'd take less damage for cooldowns that aren't hand-me-downs from a dumpster fire, and one and a half new dps buttons that are just half-assed animations to do stuff every minute/90s. WTF IS SALT AND DARKNESS XENO

edit: lmao you got to the downward spiral ahahaha. Okay, you got me

  10. Generally pretty decent discussion of buffs, why not to nerf, etc. But as the post said please cut down on calling devs stupid, etc. They're just people doing their jobs and busting their ass; insults don't help anyone, and everyone can make mistakes – especially people trying to balance a game with what is essentially an infinite number of interactions between systems and abilities.

Are the devs stupid? No. They're just human. Lets please treat them as such and not act like toxic, entitled assholes who can't mature out of our base desires for media gratification.

  11. I think FFXIV has reached a point where it has to add skill trees or something to add some flavor in general. They cannot possibly add more actions to most jobs, and that's when augementation would come in. It doesn't have to be anything crazy, just enough to add some style to what you like doing. And it's honestly easier to keep this balanced than people would think.

Items having abilities and characters having skill trees together is what makes balancing a nightmare. But games that often only have skilltrees are far, far more balanced because you dont have to think of balance with and without the items.

Next expansion should be more about adding to whats already here. Subraces and customization options, no new races, deeper enhancements to every existing job, no new jobs, and a focus on every existing system in the game thus far. Because if they're not making new jobs or races thats a more resources for other things.

  12. Dude if they buff Sam, blm and monk. Maybe keep reaper like this. I legit throw the towel as Nin XD. I already struggle not to feel like a waste of space in Savage unless I hit a 80+ parse. I freakin 25% reaper, sam or monk will give the party more benefits xD If I get a drg as 2nd meele I alrdy know I have to be absolutely on fkin point to even pass the freakin enrage while with 1rpr/mnk it feels like they don't even exist XD
But yea, let's give these weak classes some dps in return for their high skillceiling KEKW

  13. As a PLD main, it's a been a serious rollercoaster ride.. I don't even feel like Paladin really has a thing anymore that makes it paladin…. The defender, holy knight protector, is what Paladin is supposed to be, yet due to so many changes, both in the class itself, and how the game plays, it's just been thrusted into a blank tank that doesn't do anything special if you really get down to reality.

Back in ARR 1.0 and FFXIV 1.0 Paladin had its place. It could revive, cover was actually beneficial in some cases because enmity was harder to control, and more close, and it had very strong defensive options that Warrior simply didn't. Warrior was the meatshield DPS tank, while Paladin was the full on nothing is getting through me tank.

Now it's just completely boring vanilla blank tank that doesn't have anything really going for it. They removed Revive. They made the bosses, enmity and balance of the game bosses, and raids so equal and streamlined that any tank can tank anything, and while this makes all tanks kinda… "meh, we all do the same thing with different particles" situation, all classes technically have that "problem", but they still have an identity that brings something to the table. Paladin simply doesn't.

SO Paladin gets heals… big deal.. You never need them. And if you do need them 9/10 times your whole party is screwed at that point because it means a healer is down, or your healers are incompetent. Mana for healers is so easy to manage, you will never have to worry about healing yourself. The only time the self heal remotely comes into play is MAYBE if you're in a dedicated raid group, and the healers know you're going to heal yourself and they can save theirs, but 99/100 times they'll want you to blow your mana on your magic DPS rotation anyway, as the healers still have plenty of mana to spare and you can just throw up your tanks invulnerable.

They gave a magic rotation to paladin which was nifty, but as we see their DPS is still dog shit.

They get a unique "Cover" skill, which is the most worthless waste of space on my hot bar. There is never a point where that shit is useful, especially since again.. 9/10 times if you want to quickly cover the main tank, or off tank during a tank switch and something goes wrong, it will either A) go through it and ignore it, or B) You had to tank switch or will need too soon and it'll just cost you your life anyway. Or C) any of the above and it will ignore your Hallowed Ground and kill you anyway…

    It's a lose/lose/lose for Paladin.

Every unique skill and identity it has is complete dog shit worthless, and they even removed it's iconic revive ages ago, which I feel would have really gave Paladin a great place to be, even if it was the lowest DPS tank, or hell, even the lowest DPS class in the game by far. A paladin could cover for healers and revive someone itself, while a tank swap was happening, or do a tank swap to help pick up raid members. It would of been an incredibly powerful role and class in its dynamics rather than its straight DPS.

Right now I have a raid group where I as the paladin, will off tank, purely to help heal, and free up one of our other healers to do DPS.. Because they can out DPS a paladin, and with the new expansion, Paladin can actually fill their MP bar pretty damn fast, so it's just 1 quick rotation, heal spam, rinse repeat while face tanking. It's a sad thing to be a paladin main.

  14. Buffing busy jobs: Happy
    AST not included: sadge

Given, it's super good for prog. But the amount of effort you need to do for an output that's just below all 3 healers? Why.
if there is ANY busy job that might need just a bit of buff for it's damage I hope they consider AST. It's nDPS is so far below all the other healers while in rDPS it's still behind all of the other healers. Sure I understand potential wise, it has the highest. But that's highly dependent on the party you have as well.

  15. I'm just sick and tired as a Nin main. Nin in the FF world were always dps beast. I dont care for top spot. But being the lowest dps and the utility bitch of the melees is an insult. Especially eith it being very busy and hard to master. We deserve better.

  16. No. Tanks should be doing EXACTLY THE SAME DPS. Exact. THE SAME. Balanced is based on utility, as they aren't DDs, but Ts.

Since you are using game/third party data, xeno, you need to back up why you say the tank dps should be what you say as doing that, it's no longer an opinion piece.

    Expanded:

Dark shouldn't be top. If they are going to nerf warrior's dps (they don't nerf jobs..? tf you talking about? They kept nerfing war since end of HW. Yeah they buffed it in SB but gave a fu and significantly nerfed its growth and its attention and effort towards it in general. Like dark, it got nothing.

Dark cannot really heal (which there's no excuse for that), it still has too much party utility compared to warrior (who still has the least tho not by much) You can argue war heals, but it can't use both simultaneously. You can argue SIO exists, ok, it tanks personal cds and war is the main tank (but bloodwhetting! Maybe with gear pad). Nascent is actually good for once especially under a good warrior.

TBN is 15s. (25% of players HP regardless). Oblation exists and can be stacked. LD isnt an excuse as that just needs adjusting (holmgang isn't 10s, its 1 to 10s. Sorry, even tho you say dungeons don't matter, they do, because it's content in the game. you need to do dungeons to get to end game. War should be able to bind far away and that range needs to be buffed)

Gunbreaker has a 900 pot excog and 2 18s 200 cure pot regen that can be split.

    Paladin is PLD.

All the tanks have nearly the same thing except warrior). At least its based on weaponskills now and not dps, so death/damage doesn't eliminate that.

    Warrior Dark Knight Gunbreaker Paladin.
Its actually difficult with gnb vs dark tbh. MIT versus heal but I think gunbreaker is better than darks.

But tbh, with the changes, it should all be the same dps, period.

  17. I agree with your sentiment around 8m 50s: having your job suck will ruin your experience.

4.0 warrior definitely disappointed me. It was still technically good (with problems), but I understand that 3.0 war was better (I was around in HW). It had more to it. 5.0 war made me extremely angry for 2.5y that I finally quit a raid tier. I couldn't do it anymore. Tanking in UWU and UCOB on war made me so salty, too.

So I'm laughing in tears that you say the same thing about war: don't worry, war will get buffed at the very end when nothing matters anymore (I hope yoshida fucking heard you because that is why i hate the man. Genuine hate. I do not approve of unfairness, favoritism, nor neglect)

Threatening that they will passive aggressively not buff jobs in retaliation of passion is immature and stupid. Then don't screw people over, yoshida.

But I still dislike that paladin gets the most attention. People meme that its warrior with the plds be bullying, but past data of patch notes show that pld is the most, then goes down to dark and warrior.

I couldn't play dark in HW. It was too hard for me. I've always hated the mp management, but after my 6y growth and getting better at the game progressively, I wish I could play HW dark again.

  18. Yoshi-P: Be kinder to the developers. They are people too. Nothing wrong with criticism but you don't need to be so aggressive.

Xeno: Man these devs are so fucking stupid. They have no idea wtf they are they are doing and they are just lucky whenever they get balance right.

I used to like Xeno but Jesus Christ he is so toxic.
