hoo
as a paladin main, this new to me 😀 tyvm
Thanks man, gonna give this a try tonight!
Ive been a Paladin main for three years and just started doing this a few months ago….I normally only do it on comfortable parts of the fights
It's not a hard optimization to do, but I've always found it kind of cursed (not old Monk optimization levels of cursed) and unintended by the devs. It's pretty cool to have something like this despite not causing a massive change in your damage output. Do you think they'll adjust the duration of FoF in EW or remove a GCD from the rotation, or do you think Paladin will go into the next expansion still as the "Spreadsheet" Tank.
I just got PLD to 80 recently, so knowing about this earlier than later will make it easier to start off learning to optimize.
This is objectively a safer rotation for making sure you get two goring blades under fight or flight. With the three atonement rotation, it is much less forgiving with clipping and the slightest amount of downtime. Of course that means you might not fit the fourth atonement under FoF, but goring blade is higher potency than atonement so it’s still better dps.
Edit: please read the reply to this comment about 2.43 gcd.
What gcd does tier require? Tried it on dummy at 2.41s and i can't reliably fit in the last atonement
Okay interesting. Thats a little more wild than i was expecting when you mentioned it before but very interesting indeed. Gonna have to give this a try
Not much of a tank player but for such a simple micro adjustment im kinda glad i found this for the few times i do play tank
I mean the PLD stuff is cool and all but the real nugget of info is that you can reset striking dummies
Nice . I just switched to gnb/pld for those mount achievements and I noticed I needed to delay a couple gcds for a cleaner rotation. Thank you!
The caveat is that you absolutely cannot disengage for 5 gcds between royal and the post-goring atonement; otherwise the atonement buff will fall off.
Is this really more powerful? both royal authority and atonement have 550 potency, where does the extra dmg come in?
So the odd timing of Flight or Flight's CD won't be weird with raid-buffs?
so I am a returning player from stormblood and I am looking into continuing along with my paladin, is there a link to a guide so I can get back into the rotations/ bar setup I need?
I'm tinkering with this, but it seems like it's not as strong. :ponders:
Interesting. I’m a GNB main, leveling paladin to 80 now. I guess it’ll be different again if when EW comes out and you have like 8 spells in requiescat. But this doesn’t seem too hard compared to fitting the 9gcd’s in no mercy with like a million off globals.
