Honestly this game CAN NOT STAY OUTTA FUCKING DRAMA…god damn…im convinced that ff14 was better off as a niche game than one that blew up…shit was probably like this 7 years ago and allot of us gave no shits either we knew moved on now each month someone always bringing drama from 3rd party, to a billboard, to cheating in ultimate's, to a damn lalafell chair…this game has attracted some of the worse people. XD im convinced some of them need to leave ff14 and go back to wow or where ever they came from twitter…
Here is the problem with the hole Plugin thing, you can either allow all plugins or no plugins whatsoever, you can't just allow "some" plugins, and SE stands on no plugins, and thy can not really blanket ban Plugin user simply it go so out of hand that thy be banning a large chunk of players, also it's rather easy to find out if someone is using plugins thy just have to look for the quick luncher exe and thy know. It's as much as running a PS in the command line than look for FFXIV exe and check if it's a child prosses of the quick luncher
Every world first ever cheated in some way. UNNAMED_ are the true winners.
I don't understand how you can say that having an API would make things more clear. Square has been extremely clear. ACT is not acceptable. Reshade is not acceptable. Dalamud is not acceptable. Nothing is acceptable. The stock game and controls is it. That's Square's official stance on the matter, it's extremely clear, if they didn't make it, it's not acceptable.
I also don't understand the logic of Square Enix being the one that needs to make anything clear for purposes of a world first race that they aren't arbiters of. If Square is sponsoring a world first race, then yes, they arbitrate the rules of the run, and those rules are zero third party plugins. No matter what they do. If they aren't sponsoring it, then it is up to us as it has always been, asking Square to set the rules for a world first race in ffxiv would be like asking Ford to set the rules for NASCAR.
If you want Square to set the rules, they did, no third party plugins at all ever. If you don't like that answer, then you need to find someone else to lay that decision at the feet of, because you can't go to Square and say "give us the rules but don't tell us no plugins are permissable." because then you're the one setting the rules.
What exactly are you talking about? SE has long since drawn the line but the community has rejected it. They have long since stated that they do not condone the use of any 3rd pt tools and the use of all of them are against ToS. You are the ones rejecting it because of the necessity of ACT's parser which in turn allows other people to push the line further and further back to then say that triggers are ok then from there in client plugins became much more prevelant.
I don't understand why there's any discussion over what Square Enix can/should do over add-ons. They only have two choices; look the other way as long when there isn't some raid-related and don't acknowledge them or work on some way to hard-ban them all. They can't officially acknowledged them, in any way, since it's a game where there's crossplay between console and PC and both platforms are important to the game's health.
I feel like the negative comments didn't even listen.
People will mod unless SE regulates the competition in some way. It clearly doesn't matter that "SE has already been clear and is against all mods" in practice that means nothing. I say the competition should be monitered. Any other competition in any other sport is.
Allowing some will just open the gates to allowing all. If it's super important like seeing ally buffs it should be in game by default.
If people use add ons because they say "others are" is just an excuse. Anyone who uses even ACT fails at raiding at all levels. Point blank end of line. If you call yourself a top raider but cannot figure out how the built ingame mechs work to figure out your dps then you should not call yourself a raider. I am sick and tired of all these "raiders" saying ACT is a must to raid just so they can gate keep and keep others down. These people are gaslighting you if they say you need any add on to raid in ffxiv then you fail at it. THEY need add ons to raid because they fail and tell others it is a must so they do not have to admit they actually fail at raids and need all the help they can get. Just listen to them "you HAVE to have this that or the other to raid in ffxiv." I read stories of people even canceling alliance raids because they have it in their head they need these add ons to play. Do NOT let these "top rank" raiders gaslight you. No add ons are needed, and again any justification to use them is just an excuse they use to hide the fact they actually suck at raiding in ffxiv.
It's simple. No addons are acceptable in a world race. None. You can record your footage or stream but nothing else. No other way to keep things balanced and fairish. But its down to squenix to decide. But currently seeing everyone clear with an absurd amount of cheats makes high end content clears feel empty, and restricts the devs ability to design good fights. Not good for fun gameplay or competition I wish they would just make u run an anticheat along side your game to participate in high end.
1- the assumption that they ignore 3rd party tools is false .Also calling it drama and yelling like it should be you choice on their servers only sounds like " WAAA YOU WONT LET ME CHEAT !
– i have played since legacy : b4 yoshi it was in the TOS. After yoshi it was in the TOS it was in 8 live letters 2 TOS resighns and 2 expansion interviews at some point you all need to accept he said no not allowed and take the responsibility of breaking the rules. you cant shoot a person and get off because you diddnt know it was a crime. at some point you already know when your wrong.
