  1. The reason of them deleting their account is because of their culture. They go to extreme means to show they are apologetic. While NA and EU were mostly joking and meme-ing, on JP's side they really frown upon addons and they go on social media to show their discontent to the point they harass the person. As a target of this type of harassment the best you can do, is deleting yourself from the internet.

  2. I think blaming protestor because someone deleting character is not right

it is nothing wrong with some shaming to a cheater if it contain in game sphere . It nature for society to try to hold into some standard from it member when it blantly clear like this.I lost my train of thought but it good that people in society not sleep on cheating and cheater .

  3. Having to delete one's account is a bit too far and really shouldn't have been pushed to that extreme.

If people are harassing players, that should been a report to the GMs.

Sure they cheated but the community shouldnt have taken it that far.

  4. You know what the Devs COULD do is just make effects not visible at a certain zoom distance so whatever the default camera is if you are farther than that you can't see the effects. That might help.

  5. It's not just about harassment, those guys will never find a static or even a pf/df group again, jp has a secret list they pass around for what they consider player you should avoid at all times. So these guys might need to make completely new characters/accounts or move to a non jp server.

  6. Also while people deleting their characters out of shame or guilt is nothing to applaud.
Zero tolerance for cheating is also something I am completely in support of. You cannot be nice about something you don't have tolerance for. I'm sorry you don't go "Aw gee wiz you rascals" to cheating. As long as everyone knows they are being held to the same standard when they cheat that is. Which means no these people shouldn't be harassed, but I'll be damned if anyone thinks it's toxic to hold people accountable for their actions and that folk do not have a reason to have grievance with them. Being soft on people who do bad things does more harm than good. Always.

And further more* It devalues the competitive spirit. I'm not a world first racer, but those that dedicate themselves to being not only the best in the game but the best of the best, do not deserve to have their efforts go unrewarded with unfair gameplay advantages while another group steals the glory from it. The people who put in the work for this game deserve that. Now because of that cheating the real world first moment is tainted and diminished. Cheating is enticing but even if you finish last, you finish daring to be great. So your spirit will not be lotted in with meager souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

  7. "Ban those players and The World First only be given to people whose clear with video as a evidence"
    -someone
for me I feel their clear kinda useless I want streamer to get the title as they're the one who keep making funny or excite reaction to the ultimate and give people a video to watch. not like these people who just get the title and gone.
I wish they'd get ban as it really rude for them to use Mod while aiming for World First title.
If this ultimate already have a lot of people clear it and start to become normal and then they use mod I'm not gonna complains much. As it not gonna make modder become this dirty.

  8. Weird take. They deleted their accounts because it was eventually going to get banned, even if it wasnt, they are socially dead. The Japanese ff14 community is even more outraged because they don't want to be seen as hypocritical as they called out western teams for previous worlds first raids, to the point that they are currently doxxing those involved. The casual community is more concerned about all this drama from the use of mods, forcing anticheat to be potentially implemented, which would kill dozens of QOL mods.

  9. Blatant cheating instigates equal treatment in response. I'm not saying it's right, but none of it would have happened if they just played the game like they're supposed to. Instead, they resorted to claiming a coveted "World's First" title while others have invested hours upon hours of time into this fight. I don't condone harassment at all but we can't act like it wasn't warranted to some degree.

  10. Even if they don't delete their accounts.

They suppose to get a permanent ban anyway as it has been describing in TOS.

Or are Japanese people gonna protect each other? As now it their people now. That using a Third-party program? =)

  11. lol i have zero sympathy for the cheaters. Getting called out by other people definitely isn’t toxic. Cheating is toxic. Ultimates are the one thing in ff14 that shows true skill. Good riddance to them.

  12. It’s likely that it’s not the NA/EU community that are harassing the players. The JP community takes things like this very seriously and they do like to be keyboard warriors through anonymity… NA/EU simply just meme the situation and don’t care too much. Japanese people don’t really accept apologies unless it’s to the most extreme end of doing so, such as making others quit the game or delete their accounts so that they’ll be satisfied

  13. This was a really bizarre take honestly. So much sympathy for the cheaters? If people choose to broadcast their endeavours publicly and then willfully act underhandedly in doing so, yeah, they're gonna get called out publicly. All this blaming the community on your part kinda just makes you sound like a cheater apologist or just a cheater yourself…

  14. I disagree, I think its only fair that people who cheat to win should be dragged for it. IDK really what kinda "bullying" is going on exactly since now a days simple criticism or minor disagreements can be taken as "violence" or "hurtful". But so long as its nothing out of line like doxxing or out of game targeting then… i say they deserve the ire of the community they cheated.

  15. "The “Ultimate” raid series is the most difficult battle content within FFXIV, and we release this content after testing that it can be cleared without the use of any third-party tools. However, if the presumption is that this content will be tackled and cleared with the use of third-party tools, then any reason to develop high-difficulty battle content seems to be lost. It’s very difficult for me to understand as a gamer what the meaning behind using numerous third-party tools to compete to clear first would be." Yoshi-P.
The cheaters will end making us lose the ultimates, so I'm all to permaban them so any other perishes the thought of it. (I wouldn't be against it simply be temporary, mind you; but if they're going to make us lose the ultimates for good then their penalty being for good is fitting. I would let it be a three to six months suspension on the first offence, permaban in a repeat.).

  16. An't no one telling them to delete their account, they are doing it because they are trying to hide, everyone has marked them with the "cheater" title, and from now on even if they don't cheat, that cheater title stays with them. So to hide themselves from the Cheater title, they are deleting their account so they can start over. World First players are in it for the fame of being world first, if everyone remembers you as a cheater, you will never get over that. So how do you get over that? Delete your account/character so no one knows it was you and then cheat to get another world first and hope you don't get caught so you can claim your the best again. A character means nothing in an MMO, they can be remake, the title cheater follows the character forever.

Everyone would love for these cheaters to keep their account and characters, so we will know who to not give world first credits to, who are the people to avoid, who to not recruit when we need players for world first. Them deleting their account just makes it hard to know if one of our recruit is a cheater.

  17. I am confident Unnamed wasn’t the only one who cheated, they were just the only ones exposed. I don’t agree with it but I don’t condemn it either. You’re not going to “win” when so many of your competitors want it badly enough to cut corners. To me, it all just comes across as one person being a salty h*e and deciding to go scorched Earth for reasons I am sure I will never know. Months or years from now when the “tank LB3 UPR cheese strats” part of an Ultimate’s lifecycle comes forth, no one will care about world first anything.

  18. the problem with what they are doing filters down to other content as well and that is a problem.seen some of the PFs for ultimate recently? yeah not gonna lie saying UAV or AC130 is not masking the fact they are encouraging cheating,. what baffels me is when the cheaters get called out they get dogpiled on because your not allowed to talk about it the mental unhinged mentality is just ugg….

  19. Yeah I’m a bit torn in the results. Absolutely don’t hound or dox players, but at the same time, it’s not an unreasonable response to people violating rules in a competition. Athletes lose their career and are blacklisted all the time when discovered that their cheating. This is no different. 100% don’t cause harm to anyone, but the actions taken by the team wasn’t terrible thinking. They got busted for cheating, ruined their image, and should in turn be punished for it. If they don’t delete their characters, I believed they should be banned and stripped of their trophies

  20. They didn’t delete their accounts because of potential bullying whatsoever. It’s called being accountable for their actions. If they wanted to clear ultimates with 3rd party tools, sure whatever, but don’t do it during the world’s first period. It’s shameful to try and take a title knowing full and well you cheated. You can call folks like myself a harasser or a bully but actions like this just makes me wish third party tools were banned altogether. Never had to use it to enjoy the game, and probably never will.

  21. I do not feel sympathy, if you choose to publicly claim a title like this knowing you cheated, you are going to get dragged by people. That's not on the community because they opened themselves up to that, it's not right for people to go to extremes but none of this would be happening if they didn't break the rules and publicize it in the biggest way possible. Not to mention modding is illegal in Japan, so blaming the community for them deleting their accounts is just not correct, they not only are gonna get banned anyway, the community all knows their character names from their own post so they'll never be able to live it down even if they stayed somehow and they are also trying to hide from getting a massive fine from the government and potentially even jail time. Even if the community all supported them they would be deleting their accounts.

  22. What a retarded take. Imagine not bullying people who cheat the game achievements. These people should be ridiculed to oblivion and frankly I'm happy they deleted their accounts. Not because I believe in bullying persay, but because they deserve whatevers coming to them. The same way they exploit tools with the game in different ways to gain these achievements especially during WF racing, is the same way they should be punished severely if discovered.

Modders of all kinds assume a responsibility when using them when their account is concerned and we need to stop apologizing for that fact. This should be understood by ALL involved. We don't need to defend these people. THEY KNOW the rules they are breaking.

  23. Virtually everyone playing regularly savage/ultimate content complaining about that is a hypocrite (maybe there are some pristine saint exceptions out there, but don't hold your breath). Between act, basic triggers, triggernometry triggers (and magic one can do with that), cactbot, "just" QoL plugins (fixing 10yr old/broken garbage called ui in this game) and "not so only" QoL plugins, leaks/datamining or even simple stupid voice communication – where is the precisely defined border of what does and doesn't constitute to cheating ?

If you think teams going into this content and aiming at the world 1st are some sort of genuine player saints staying away from anything they can get their hands on – then I have several bridges and a nearby church to sell to you right now. Hint: look at doping and blood transfusions in professional sports.

What's funny about this particular thing:

    – this time JP players got caught with their pants down, which is a lovely cherry on top; fucking hypocrites
    – their own team members ratted them out after internal strife (if to believe what we now); karma is a bitch
    – everyone is "oooh zoom, so bad" – but between that and other stuff possible and available – IDK, people might be barking the wrong tree
    – memes past few days are lovely

  24. crazy almost like they could just use the mindset that majority of players on PC whether they like it or not use 3rd party tools and you are absolutely lying to yourself if you think they dont in some way shape or form. Just take the WoW approach and design the fight with the assumption 3rd party tools will be used. Im well aware the argument will be "but console players" but they need to just drop the mindset that this is a squeaky clean community that wont use the tools at their disposal. It takes 1 quick google search of Splatoon/Cactpot/ACT and 5 minutes of setting up to literally have the mechanics shown to you on the floor down to the pixel before they even happen and have microsoft sam in your ear literally telling you the mechanic/how to resolve it.
