first!
It has been an interesting journey with you. Looking forward to many more❤️
i hope you re right about Zenos. His ending honestly feels so jarring, right after we teach one "enemy" the reason to live, we hold hands with genocidal robots, and give Emet yet another smiling ending (deserved dont get me wrong) even after he admits he still thinks he was in the right, Zenos getting half a monologue in which he basically says he's unsatisfied with his life was so… sad. And then we just leave him there? In Meition's nest too? So his soul can't return to the star like the rest? Sigh. I miss my enemy already.
I really didn't like Zenos and was disappointed that he wasn't done and buried after Stormblood. The ending fight was a lot of fun, but I would've felt more empowered as a player if I was given the option to deny him the fight he craved. Even if he lashed out and attacked me after to force the fight, it would've been fine, but I wish I could have chosen not to fight.
All that said and done, I had a wonderful experience with the story.
at first, nobbel couldn't be forgiven for picking all the dialogue options with the least amount of emotional delivery (specially the ones with venat)
but nobbel is also the most zenos-sexual person I know, so everything ended in a test of his reflexes and singular bliss
a truly blessed journey
I never understood why some people (well.. they are mostly american, maybe there's a cultural thing at play) assign things as being "'anime". It doesn't mean anything, "anime" isn't a genre, it englobes a plethora of different stories completely unrelated to one another, with tens of different genres inside of it. To me, the only distinctive thing in common between stuff people call "anime" is that they are japanese. It's like "anime" has suddenly been reduced to Dragon Ball Z tropes, and any visibly japanese piece of media is painted as "lol weeb uwu laser beam power of friendship" and other buzzwords.
About Hermes – I can symphatise with his motivation: regarding theology and philosophy. Particularly in the case of theodicy (existence of suffering/evil and free will) – if animals (or non-ancient / non-ascian for that matter) have no free will, why do they have to suffer as well.
The most common response (or common copium) I get from followers of abrahamic tradition is: "well they don't actually suffer" – totally dismissing their suffering. Pretty much the stance taken by most ancients/ascians.
Watching the credits role was great. I loved seeing all the characters, the moments… honestly it was like seeing characters and moments from a 10 year HBO TV series or something. I feel like it was a GoT level series! 💯 was it a perfect story? No. But man they did a pretty darn good job! Glad you made it.
Loved hearing your thoughts. Hope to see more from you
I don't know if anyone told you this but meteion in her bird form was shown in different artworks even before endwalker was announced. One example is the FF14 Stratocaster guitar artwork with Y'shtola playing it for a blue bird.
Anyone who says this game is too "anime" is either misrepresenting this game or they haven't seen many anime because anime come in every genre and for every all ages and FFXIV is about as anime as Lord of the Rings or God of War.
I don't think they are going to bring back the man who nearly ended the world for fun, as a scion. XD
There's one gripe I have with Shadowbringer. They needed expand more with Ran'jit backstory. His reveal was a mere paragraph before the fight with Thancred. Not many know that Ran'jit was the only person in Eulmore that were not tempered by Vaultry. He was there on his own accord. He chose to side with Vaultry was because he wanted to protect Minfilia from her inevitable demise. But here comes a stranger from another world who knows nothing about their world, kidnapps her and risk her life in the process. If Ran'jit didn't love Minfilia like a daughter, he wouldn't have chased for her all over Norverant.
Didn't Zenos end himself and just walked back for no reason?
Wouldn't he be able to just be like "lol who dis new body" again?
tbh I don't really get the "weeb game AYAYA" thing. Majority of the darkest and heaviest stories I've ever experienced are from this media, and often problems they deal are so unique that you would not see anywhere else.
