  1. It might be worth having a second class unlocked for the msq xp.
Or eventually you will be too high for it to make any dent and be a waste
I’d say if your 10-15 lvls higher than current msq, switch to alt class and stick it on that until your msq catches up to your main job again. Otherwise you’ll be adding 15000xp to 1m required lol

  2. I don’t main caster but a tip I can give you to burn down mobs of enemies is to apply bio/debuff on every one of them at the beginning of engagement since bio is cast and cooldown is instant then return to the monster u first debuff spam it with ruin and other skill if Bio is in last 5-3 seconds re apply the on all mosters. Rinse and repeat that way you deal more damage and clear dungeon faster.

  3. I should probably explain what happened in that dungeon, people who are really good at Tanking will run ahead and aggro multiple groups of enemies at once so the party's DPS characters (like you) can use AoE attacks (like Sparky) to kill everything way quicker because if you hit everything at once then the damage you do every couple seconds goes way up with every extra enemy, right? Because you're applying, say, 30 damage to 10 things instead of 5. So you focused on an enemy and did enough damage that it stopped aggro-ing the Tank, and because the Tank is busy hitting skills to up their defense to survive, they never noticed you were sticking behind. Which means they beat the group half as fast as they ould have if you were there.

So yeah, next time you see the Tank run off, try to follow them and take advantage of the huge group they're building up to do a ton of damage at once.

Outside of that, good job with this one! You spotted the mechanic fairly quickly and adjusted to it pretty well.

Also, might want to roll for equipment as you follow the group. It's generally a good habbit to get into because the party usually won't stop, so you might as well look at stuff while trying to keep up so you can help out when they need it.

Oh yeah, it's also worth noting that you don't have to stay behind the Tank. In fact, you PROBABLY shouldn't be right behind them in most situations. Sure, let them hit the enemies first and everything, but once combat actually starts some enemies shoot out wider attacks that can hit people standing next to or behind the Tank. As long as you're not standing right in front of the enemy you'll generally be fine because auto attacks tend to just hit exactly where the Tank is anyways.

  4. The funny thing is that most healers will have moments where someone ran out of range of your heals. Now, I'm normally in range of the tank, but ranged players (especially BRD) have a habit of running around and being out of range of your AoE heals and sometimes even out of range of single target heals. Why they don't stay in one spot, I have no clue.

I have had tanks go out of range of my heals. They sprint when mine is on cooldown, sometimes they combine it with gap closers? So, they're tanking double packs without using any cooldowns and it's several GCDs before I'm in range of a heal. I had a tank do that in a dungeon and tank mobs around a corner so it was especially hard for me to get in range. They died because I was too far behind. "Why didn't you Sprint?" "It was on cooldown because I used it on the boss to avoid a mechanic after casting a spell." "Oh." "Why did you tank the mobs around the corner?" "Didn't think about it."

  5. Don't you finish the last part of the gw2 story?
Or maybe you wait for the ultimate chapter of the the saga to be released at the end of April to finish everything?

  7. If you want to use your "5" you first need to use your Energy Drain on "2". This will load up the two crystals on the right hand side of the screen. The damage your 5 does is increased the more debuffs (your "3" and "4") are currently on the target. So make sure those two are up before using "5".
Also, to see loot and roll dice for you do not need to click on the chest if it is already open. There is a gray ribbon on the right hand side which opens current loot.

  8. Not sure how far you are relative to this video right now, but commendations and loot will appear as buttons on the bottom right, so you don't have to access treasure chests to choose loot, only one person needs to do that and you'll be able to access them even while walking away. The commendations button lets you give a commendation to whoever you thought did the best job after you beat the last boss of each instance (you can't give them to people that you partied with before joining, only to randoms).

  9. You laugh at Dalamud exploding into pieces, and their god being turned to ash, but you probably haven't seen the true devastation that came after that. But that's something you'll find out later in the game when you do a certain Trial.

  10. Man, I really have to NG+ this and Heavensward. Because I had friends who were way into endgaming MMOs (and frankly, after years of MMO stories being skippable trash) we just kind of plowed through ARR"s story, skipping all the cutscenes and not reading anything. Same with Heavensward, to the chagrin of most people reading this I'm sure.

Some of my friends quit and those who remained kind of slowed down, and I finally got to just focus on relaxing and enjoying the story come Stormblood, which I enjoyed quite a bit, and Shadowbringers, which I enjoyed immensely. Time to finally go back and start over from the beginning and get as close to the full experience as I can, despite knowing how a lot of events turn out after years of memes and conversations.

  11. He said it! He pronounced Dalamud! o/ Edit: If you can't Need a loot item in a dungeon, Greed it; Passing on everything is going to be bad later.

  12. Gaaaahhhhh! It’s driving me insane!
I know I’m late on this, and while I am enjoying his journey through the game, but this goddamn “STOINKS” meme is grating on my last nerve!
Someone please tell me he stops saying that at some point!
