  1. Frankly, they should just increase the no. of plots until demand is met instead of coming out with another painful way to get a plot. Why make it so scarce when everyone is paying a sub?

  2. Terrible. Lottery means that you now have a .0000001% chance due to server population vs available land since ratio of available land to players is about 40% less than it was even last year at this time.

Therefore, lottery made chances less, not more.

  3. I've always been wondering why they don't allow us to add a house to our subscription cost? They allow us to spend a couple extra dollars a month to get extra retainers to help you with crafting and storage, I think that if they allowed you to spend money to guarantee yourself a housing plot a chunk of the player base would definitely take up that offer. Maybe like $2 for a small 4 for a medium 8 for a large. Move you into a neighborhood that is only other people who purchase.

  4. about time for this ngl. I've qlready got my dream plot, but seeing an upwards of $800 USD for just an in game large in a highly populated server is actual robbery. not to mention when that seller has around 10+ plots to sell because they bot on all NA and EU DCs lol.

edit: found out they sell gil and do RMT, it's always like this huh

  5. My only question is, will we know how many entries are on a plot before submitting our own entry? I'd of course rather try for a plot with less entries!

  6. There is SO much wrong with this system of random chance that I feel is impossible to address. This is going to leave people saltier than before, mark my words.

  7. Nope this is just as unfair as the other system.. It should be you click and buy the house you want and as you walk over the threshold of the plot you zone in to your own personal area . like when you click the door you go in to the house that is yours… the housing system should be like Everquest2, that way everyone ingame can own a home so noone misses out.. different sizes different prices.. for the amount of players to he amount of homes is terrible as it is..

  8. RNG is more fair, going from competing with around 20 people per house to thousands! Yes, this will definitely be more fair compared to having an amazing chance if you /worked/ for it! Lets be fair to the people that don't want to put the time and effort in, let people press one button and have the chance in five days to win something they didn't work for! Not to mention if you have a lot of alts, or your FC is huge and can afford to bid a billion times. Man, this is going to be so much better!

The world we live in is a crazy one, gotta say.

  9. After the first nine-day "lottery"… EVERY SINGLE AVAILABLE SPACE WILL BE GONE. They're only adding 1,144 new plots per server. Those will ALL be gone during the first nine-day "Lottery". I can't believe I'm having to explain this to people. You won't be entering lotteries until you win. You'll enter once, lose, and then all the plots are gone.

  10. The things i don't understand is can i have 1 FC entry and a personal entry, can i have more than 1 entry for FC in different plots, for example try my luck with all medium and big ones or do i need to select one specific only

  11. I still find it funny that people are pointing out that this will not solve the housing supply issue. I mean, of course it won't. It was never designed to. The lottery system was designed to make it more fair for each and every player who wants a house has the same odds at getting one. It was designed to remove the need to camp a plot clicking for hours (and hours and hours) on end trying to beat out the invisible timer. That's all.
Of course it's not going to magically let every single player have a house of their own. And yes, there will still be bots, RMT and cheese methods. And yes, there's a really good chance all of the plots will be gone day 1. But other than making it more difficult for botting and RMT, the lottery system wasn't intended to resolve any of that.

  12. The one question I still have is about purchasing for a FC. Is it just one bid for the entire FC, or per eligible character in the FC?

Also will anything be done about the FCs/individuals who own multiple properties just to clog the market?

  13. FCFS Is still a better system when houses are initially released. Lottery is MUCH better when a house is relinquished.

OCE servers opening up 7,200 housing plots per server at once to a lottery system is completely stupid.

  14. Although it's "fairer", I doubt this will appease people in the end. They think this will better their chances at getting a plot. In reality, their chances are much worse now. In the old system, chances were primarily dependent on active participants. Winners were mainly those who were dedicated and put in the time and work.

With this new system, literally anyone can join with little effort. Rather than competing with like 20 players, you are now competing with hundreds of players. It's fairer, but now more unlikely to win.

This is not to say the old system isn't open to criticisms or improvements. But people will just naively think this new system will guarantee them a house and then they will be frustrated and realize that nothing has changed and they will go right back to complaining about the plot system. It's not about fairness, it's about if this will net them a plot or not. Which hilariously will just amount to the casual player not using the house to its fullest and it'll get demolished for the next lottery anyways
