Amaurot is an emotional scar. It roils with memory, and pain, and nostalgia. It is an echo of a man who lost everything only to gain a single moment of clarity that his oldest friend may remember.
…yet the aether still lingers, reflecting those emotions. As the last of the unsundered falls, and the rains have ceased to reveal another beautiful day… Here in the depths, neath dark waters, the sky weeps as another emotional wound cuts across as like a thunderstorm, a heart held fragile and broken.

Fun Fact about the Aetherite Sanctuary zone
It's one of the smallest sanctuaries in the game if not the smallest, You lose the Sanctuary Zone effect by crossing the various lines outside of the square on the map

After the WoL finished his quest here and the Bismarks breathe begins to wane, The waters of the tempest begin to fill in the void once more. What we are hearing is the waters seeping back to cover the reflection of Amaurot.

I actually just made my own Amaurot themed apartment, too. 👀 not completely satisfied with it, but I am content with how it came out. 😌 it looks nice.

Best place in the whole game. i remember when I first got here it blew my mind.
It may be strange, but I’m actually glad that I played this years after it was current content. Having no other players around added so much to the atmosphere of this place. ❤
This was literally the subject of my dream the day I'm writing this ( I dreamt of working in amaurot during a rainy/stormy day but it was a boring every-day/work type of dream lol), and having it appear in my auto-play/recommended is really freaking me out.
I wish i could have given him a hug 😢 this city was a creation of love, of memory, of those he could yet save. No different than the WoL/D
