Ulduar music while talking about raiding, that's a cheap shot man. I love you.
So glad you had a pleasant first experience raiding! Coils are going to be fun. ❤
Dont you worry, any future raids we do, it won't be minimum item level. So it won't be as stressful.
Defintely had a blast with this! Can't wait to do this again with the next set.
A Pleasure Jay, not many people get to experience Crystal Tower Min I-Lvl it was something we wanted to do for you from the moment you said you were going to find time for FF14. people dont get to experience mechanics nowadays.
I am still disappointed in Glasya it was his chance to redeem himself but even at Min I-Lvl we still didnt have to do the platforms….
Ohhhh I remember the old time when that was current content. Now, we do that place in 20min easy pezy 😛
i was being a good Floor Tank 😊
Fun fact: the crystal tower raids were optional up until patch 5.3 of shadow bringers. In order to go through the rest of the MSQ, you had to go back and complete the CT raids. AND the people who were new or have yet to beat a Realm Reborn were automatically funneled to CT.
WOW had 40 man raids back in the day. FF14 raids really aren't too bad to even PUG, the hard raids are the savage and ultimate stuff.
Really happy that the min ilvl made CT more memorable, even if the latter parts are still easy. Shout-out to when I did a Tanks Only run of the last raid and everyone freaked out about CoD's lava snakes that never, EVER appear in a normal run 😂 excited to hear your reaction to Coils!
the experience of Crystal Tower is not the typical raid experience…, not only cause the 24-man is not typical raid
(Edit: Yes, Coils!.., go in with others 1st time.., and use a guide if too tricky, to advance faster.., np…; imo better than having kill exp partners, who all already know everything)
listening to this, is fun…, taking it seriously with commanders & such^^
(you got my sub..)
thumbs up for playing a DPS on 1st playthru^^ (and minium i-Level)
Yes, Nero!^^
I will mention that in Stormblood onwards, every expansion has an alliance raid, which is what you’re doing
Heavensward has a raid but it’s different, you’ll see what I mean when you get there
I will say that Stormblood is going to be an absolute Step up
cant wait to see how you like coils or the extreme trials! glad you r enjoing yourself :)o
You're actually banned from the internet til you finish the game.
FF is always good about it's references, even outside the series. Case in point "Scylla," which was a creature first mentioned in Homer's "Odyssey."
Coils is like 10x harder than crystal tower! I would be very surprised if you cleared all of it under a week if going blind MINE
Glad you enjoyed the raid! Have a great journey in your upcoming FFXIV adventures!
To be fair, when that raid came out for the first-time long time ago, I had no idea it would be a 24 man raid because up until that point, we haven't had anything like that in FF14. So, basically, some of the veterans like me who are not informed much about the game's update, we went in there unprepared lol.
Back when these were new, I would go in with random people, 23 other random dudes at minimum item level, and so I would punch out a quick "Okay here are three important things to remember" so we could get through fast, just like your commanders.
There were times I'd get 7 commends, the maximum amount you could get in an 8 man run, because of the help in Labyrinth of the Ancients. That stuff was crazy doing it with randos. It's a little sad that you can't get random people to do minimum ilvl in these dungeons anymore.
FUN FACT! The original 24 man raids would have 2 tanks per 8 man group! This made Bone Dragon a lot easier to manage, because you'd have one tank with the dragon, and 5 other tanks dragging the skeletons away. It's incredible how even a tiny change can make things so much more difficult!
They mixed up 24 man with actual raiding lol
Amon and the Void stuff were pretty interesting. It's a shame that it's all done with after this raid. =(
Youre first mistake was assuming you needed a perfect hand crafted party. None of the trials or raids are particularly hard until you choose the extreme difficulty or get to maybe shadowbringers or endwalker. You can get away with just using the duty finder to form your party for you. Short of the highest difficulty level endgame content of each expansion you dont need to have a perfect party. Just observe what other ppl do in the duty and mimic it 😂
Shandee…. lmao! 10:01
Hmm, Im gonna be a mega party pooper, I guess aliance raids are…raids in a sense. But really the real raids in FFXIV are the 8 man extreme, savage and ultimate content. Still, AR's are cool, fun spectacles with a modicum of difficulty (but intended for you to clear it with relative ease).
I imagine you could find a group of players to try the 1st extremes in the game, to kinda get a better feel for it, but do keep in mind that ARR stuff still remains as some fairly certified jank.
I'm glad you got to experience this as a planned raid with people who cared enough to teach you the basics. Most sprouts learn baptism by fire when they queue and they don't know and the mechanics are never explained. I can vouch for how terrifying that is and I learned quickly to watch at least a guide video before jumping into Syrcus and WoD. It would have been such a pleasure to have 23 other people have my back! Also – I'm very happy you're giving the time to the story in this game. You won't regret it!
doing it on min ilvl is sick, most of these mechanics I've never even experienced even if I cleared those raids a thousand times already, huge props!!
Now do The Coils so you can truly understand just how screwed up Xande's plan was to engulf the world in darkness.
In ff, the 24 man raids are the easy ooga booga ones. The hard raids are the savage 8 man raids and ultimate raids, also 8 man.
The raid experience in FFXIV is awesome because the fights have really interesting mechanics and they have a story which is moved forward using these mechanics. You are in for a treat!
When you get more comfortable, get some friends and try Coil of Bahamut. Story there as well in regards to the twins and Louisoix.
I love your take on this, oh and i wont say if its right or wrong but ff14 players always love to see sprouts making theories and saying what they think. its funny. The most equivalent i can see is …oh sweet summer child!
My amazing and humble Co-Host here forgot to add the fact it was a MiNe run. Minimum iLvl No Echo. So each failed attempt meant no buffs. Pictures can be downloaded from the Discord. It was incredibly fun and I look forward to releasing the next Community "thingy" to the discord.
