  1. Xenosys Vex was the best one because he made himself look like a complete and utter fool just because he was mad and I used to like him too but I kind of think he's an idiot now. As for Pyro, he has always shown himself to be emotionally unstable but don't worry he always has an excuse for his bad behavior as he "was going through something that day."

  2. The thing about the discord argument is that you can recreate a lot of the features of ACT with discord BOTS, not discord itself.
Its the bots that interact with the game code, in that case they do effect the game. Xenos fucked up by just saying it was discord in general and all the insta react andies hear only that and never look further into it.
Not saying either side is right or wrong btw, it is what it is.

  3. Pyro has some good streams but he regularly erupts up at his chat. I stopped watching a long while ago due to that. You need thicker skin as a streamer or public figure if you are going to get one-guyed and easily baited.

I think Rich is right with the modders. SE should hire these guys. They know how to improve the UI, which has really been long in the tooth and needing an upgrade. They know exactly what people want, and people want their mods, everything from chat bubbles to accessibility.

Win for SE, win for modders, win for players.

Bonus is they may find a way to curb botting and cheaters.

  4. What i find the most ironic about the toxicity thing about the damage meter is that we can all agree that on any game, pvp tends to be a lot more toxic than pve.

And, for some reason, they decided to add a chart at the end of pvp matches that not only say how much damage, heal, kills, assists, deaths and pushtime a player had, it also gives you the exact name and server such player is located. How pvp ranks up works on the game, you could be on a winstreak of 10 matches or something like that, then get a dude that made 100k dmg and not even 1 min of pushtime, that costed you not only your rank up but also your hardly earned winstreak that you don't even know if you're gonna make it again. You now gave a pretty tilted player all the means to send a toxic /tell to a not so skilled player. Even if he gets banned, damage is done.

TLDR; Toxic pvp has performance chart but chill pve don't for some reason.

  5. Was the level of drama this ridiculous before WoW players started playing? Or are the content creators at fault for perpetuating this crap? Not you, Rich. Your soul is pure.

  6. not really relevant to "the discourse" but I have a hot take about that react andy meme. I would say the WoW Andys, FFXIV Andys, and LA Andys all are actually already React Andys. I mean what is a Let's Play if not reaction? especially for a story driven game like FFXIV, a lot of people watch streams of first time play throughs to see the REACTION to the story, being a react any does not have to mean specifically reacting to youtube videos or something. I think when Let's Plays started taking off was a proto-form of the more broad scope react content we see now.

  7. Hearing Rich acknowledge that he didn't do great damage while progging previous Ultimates and that it's just the right thing to try and pull your own weight in high-level content has me hopeful that he really masters the rotation of whatever job he chooses to take into DSR. I know Rich can be a better DPS than in the past, and I'm excited to see him push himself in this aspect too!

  8. This is what happens When people don’t use something think they can be better than people that do. Oddly all this toxicity is coming from people that supposedly aren’t toxic and don’t use addons while simultaneously are using non combat mods on their game. Snitches get stitches and now everyone in the game gets to be part of the suffering. Great job casuals and complainers, great job.

  9. console and save game modding is however illegal in japan i wonder if those things affect square because they know how normal it is to mod in the west but since japanese players cant they dont allow it alltogether

  10. I'm only 9 minutes in but Rich is making some DAMN good points about how toxicity stems from different people wanting different things out of the same game. I'm sitting here like Asmon just saying "true!" over and over!

Also PC player here and I use a PS4 controller. This game is awesome on controller!!

  11. People like to bring up the YoshiP discord thing, but how convenient of them to forgot that in the same stream he said they can ban people with add-on without notice, so please don't use it.

  12. This game and all its content is made to be perfectly beatable on PS4. Old, original PS4. There is nothing wrong with using gamepad in this game to do any content. Lots of people, including myself, preffers playing this game with gamepad even on PC. There are advantages and disadvantages for both, but both methods are perfectly fine.
Why people thinks console and gamepad is inferior is out of my mind.

  13. If you've come from WoW it makes sense that you'd have no clue how good console gaming is for FF14. I had the same reluctance for a couple years before I tried it and now I wouldn't want to ever use keyboard again. A lot of PC players use the PS4 controller too. Think about it Rich, if console was so bad you'd have PC only groups on Party Finder but that doesn't happen.

  14. Idk, as someone who used to play console and moved to PC, I just think some of these folks are freaking out about nothing. Nothing is gonna change for 95% of players. And that's not a hate on streamers, as many streamers had this take too.

SOME of the high end raider streamers are being pretty bratty. SE is just showing some action by enforcing the rules we all agreed on years ago. Rules that said streamers have been allowed to break openly for years. The hammer had to fall at some point…

  15. As any veterans of FFXIV can tell you, we have cleared all extremes and savage tier contents before ACT was a thing in FFXIV. DPS meter is not neccessary in FFXIV unlike other MMORPGs. I think this is where the disconnect are with Yoshi P and the community. All I can say is old habits die hard. People just needs to know their numbers.
