  1. It is really a pity they do not permit minimum item level on current content. The first boss melted so fast it barely had a chance to rotate through most if its main mechanics. And its raid-wide AOE used to hit a lot harder on players with lower gear levels.

  2. The great thing about this raid series is that all the nier stuff is very fancy and great references to the games, but all the specifics are changed around and mixed up so none of it actually spoils anything in the nier games, but still surprises people who know them because of how it twists them up. Then the actual story is just this sad little tale of a small town with problems.

  3. I didn't know the story to Nier.
after doing the raids. Decided to look up vids on the story… including its origins.
    It's fucked up

As for the raid itself, the music to the final boss in the bunker made that raid my favorite!

  4. Loved the raid. The fights, the music, the glam, even the story to an extent.

But the XIV lore surrounding it was really…bad… and that's very unfortunate.
There was literally nothing to it IMO. Some weird stuff on NieR/Drakengard lore, but nothing for XIV really.
I personally hope they never do it on that scale again. I mean, Crystal Tower lore was fantastic despite being a FF3 callback, and still had impact to recent plot. The Ivalice raids were basically ripped off from Tactics/FFXII, and now we are still getting lore added to XIV through it, with the auracites, Bozja etc. The Void Ark raid series went a bit deeper on Mhach and Amdapor, which I think will play an important part in the future too, considering the void and the hints we got towards it in some recent sidequests.
NieR had some androids that came from another planet and then vanished, so we likely will never see them again.

Maybe they can still redeem it somehow if the two dwarves show up again…
I honestly think that instead of NieR they could have gone deeper on Ronkan lore for example.

  5. Around year ago, I thought Shadowbringers is best gaming content i have never experienced…. and because these raids i tried Nier:Automata.. and damn.. it was complete new level! i sold my soul for those androids.. 😀

  6. Yeah, the NieR Automata raids are my favorites… Mostly because it's really mechanics heavy but once you know how it works, it's amazing. That being said… those week 1 runs… My God, those felt like hell XD

  7. The Nier raids are SOOOOOO GOOD! Easily my favorite alliance raids in the game. And the third one is a real banger. You're gonna have a blast with the mechanics you'll see in the final raid.

Plus, you get some of the coolest gear in the game through these. My character is mostly rocking Yorha gear from the third one. This first one is also where you get a certain legging piece…

  8. Yet another masterpiece scenario from FF14 – visuals, mechanics, and music were just off the scale. This game rises above what should be it's limits, time, and time again!

  9. For me, the last raid of Ivalice was the hardest. I was running like a blind chicken just to survive there. But for the music, Nier is the top-tier for me!

And that building and railways… RIP to those who didn’t manage to escape. Construction hazards and traffic hazards indeed.

Edit: you did the right thing that follow everyone. I did too (for surviving lolz)

  10. i know yoshi p just flat out said it in an interview, but you can easily tell that the XIV devs really respect/admire yoko taro and his team(s). my bias toward the NieR team aside, these raids are masterfully done, and the final tracks of both Copied Factory and Paradigm's Breach are among the best in the entirety of XIV

finding out that they were permanent and not just a timed collab was what pushed me back to XIV, only to find out that you can grind them for end game gear materials, as if i wasn't going to play them repeatedly regardless

the fact that they managed to incorporate the brilliance of Automata's final credits into the end of the third raid still blows me away. i was already in tears due to the song, then they (literally) hit me with that and i'm fucked all the way up

i know they joked about the NieR raid line being over a hundred 'episodes' long, but i do hope they do another series together down the line; god it's so good

  11. No worries abt spoilers for Nier:Automata…. its a completely different storyline, tho the characters were the same… this is their brief sojourn in Eorzea, Nier took place on Earth. As an avid fan of nier series, it is highly recommended.
"calming music"? lol, if you only knew….
