OMG yes I've been waiting! So excited
"Answers again?, stop!" The game laughs back at you lol
Lol I think all of us had the same reaction to learning about Venat's previous position
Can you imagine the song written a decade ago is for this exact moment?
Over a year later and That Scene still makes me weep.
I dont think anybody had words after "the cutscene". It's one of those times where you are just literally dumbstruck. It's crazy!
Im just finish this part (with jp voice, so emotional) and see for other reaction, and wow, the ENG version is so insensitivity
The duty fail montage lol
That Cutscene is still just as devastating a year later. Man.
e: my favorite part of this video is just how much of a blast you were clearly having tbh
“Answers again? Stop…”
“But it’s her theme.”
“Yeah but it makes me sad 😞”
Tanks brit. Now i will start next Day Hearthbroken.
How dare you skip over that 4th wall breaking dialogue?!? which was addressed to you, the player…
When I came to Elpis the whole time I was worried about keeping the timeline intact and hiding who I (we) really were. Then Venat just shows up and blows a hole in that plan with such a carefree nature. XD
I love how you and I had the same reaction to Meteion being the cause the final days and main villain. To me it was the biggest let down of 6.0. The idea of something at the edge of space bringing about the end is terrifying in itself, but it being some cutesy doll just killed it for me. 🫤
That cutscene and the end of ktisis are so well done and so important to venat. The cut to meet/venat's faces when meteon talks about the different civilizations that ended was really good, emets because that was the experience he was going to have going forward (defeated the final days but could not gain back their previous glory) and venat because that was where she began to understand why she split the world. It was cemented in her cutscenes when they say "where we knew naught but bliss." She knew that what she was about to do was only going to create pain and suffering, but her desire for us to live on was so great that she knew the sundering needed to happen. Absolutely beautifully done. Her line about "all is excruciating pain" is compounded (I think) by the fact that she is also hurting, knowing what she did to mankind. It was not a kindness in any way, but she knew it had to be done for the sake of the future of all people of eitherys. In my opinion that's why that cutscene is so damn moving. She bore the burden of not only having sundered the amaurotines, her own people, but the burden of knowing she had caused us eternal pain because of it. Interesting point also is I think the "divinity" of thavnair is actually hydaelyn, considering their mantra of "to live is to suffer." Kind of like throughout history she was trying to show mankind how to face adversity and keep pushing forward, preparing us to have the strength to fight the personification of despair. But back to my other point, she bore the burden of that knowledge of her deeds for millenia all by herself, without anyone else knowing and the survivors of her people even hating her and fighting her because of it. It just goes to show that she really does love all of mankind as a mother would. Crystal mommy really is a mommy eh?
It was mentioned that the dungeon was in lockdown and that meant everything was restricted power wise, except for Elpis staff. That was how the final boss was able to fight against all four of you without getting immediately stomped.
oh yes Despair
I want an Amaurot sidequest chain where we help Hythlodaeus with a stack of shark paperwork.
Oooh another brit vid
just about everybody had to take a break after watching that scene. it was so strong.
We had the Answers all along, we just didn't know the question it was answering!
I wish these vids came out faster, I love reliving the story vicariously through someone else's feelings and reactions…and also having my own again over a year later, it still hits.
Man, Hermes is the biggest drama queen I have seen in any story.
Looks at Skill Share list of videos shown
"Beat Procrastination! Productivity & Time Management Tips to stop Procrastination!"
Okay, that's something I REALLY need to watch. I'll get right to it…sometime tomorrow.
"Do not be alarmed. I mean you now harm."
Now THAT'S good writing when those are the most alarm inducing words one can speak in this situation.
BTW, hey Brit, it's Aleena Vostok, we met a couple hours ago in Gridania. Having fun chugging your tears 🙂
LOL, if I had been watching you failing Hyperborea live, I would've said, "Put a triangle marker on Hythlodeus and follow the Safety Dorito!"
Hence forth, He shall walk!
Thou Must Live, Die and Know cutscene with mommy Venat )’:
I still get teary eyed at Venat's Walk. Every time.
Yeah, "Answers" has always hit me kind of hard. But it just seems to cut a lot deeper now.
Whenever people point out the Answers lyrics I always have that doubt of like "Did they really plan this storyline all these years in advance?" and then they hit you with the "Our souls have been torn and our bodies forsaken", directly referencing the sundering. And Hear, Feel, Think, is a direct parallel for Meteion's "I only wish to hear your words, share your feelings, know your thoughts". Sure, the details may have changed over the years, but it's clear they had a solid idea of where to take this story. Even Meteion's "It's wrong, it's all wrong" was already referenced in ARR, when after the crystal tower Nero got it as a morse code message from his device thingy.
Those of us who always believed in Hydaelyn/Venat and never believed she was evil or that we were "tempered" were proven right.
There were so many people who thought Hydaelyn was evil just because she was a primal. They forgot that the majority of the primals we have faced are made via rituals that have been corrupted by the Ascians. Even with that knowledge, we have experienced some good Primals, like Shiva, that had shown that not all Primals are evil. Much like the Force, from Star Wars, it is based on intent.
Lol as soon venat dies, Emet is like " what a bother" i have never heard that before since venat never dies when i do them unless i make mistake and die. good to know
