  1. Haven’t watched yet, just saw this come up on my feed. So excited to dive into this. I beat EW in October and your playthrough videos have been such a fantastic (and funny) way to go through this emotional journey again.

  2. Yeah that first "whispers" when when alisae gets mad at raha is….yeah. that hurts every time. This game makes you care so. Damn. Much. About characters. It's why the game is so good. It's so easy to empathize with characters. Absolutely love this game and can't praise it enough, probably the best ff game ever. That's including games I'm looking at with nostalgia glasses. Not to mention the message of this story is perfect. I just….. UGH. SO GOOD. I'm glad I found your channel and got to re-experience the story with you.

  3. I have to admit, even though you are aware that with each civilization, the Scions would have to sacrifice themselves to move forward, hearing the Shadowbringers theme with G'raha almost broke me.

48:56 – "We want to see Brit ugly cry."

    That, I will not deny.

  4. I really loved the voices they used for the Ea and the Omicrons. I feel like EW is the first expansion where they really nailed the perfect vibe of "alien-ness" and/or "AI". I mean it was always fine before, but when I heard the Ea speak I was just smitten.

  6. I think it's actually more emotional watching than when I was playing because I hate fake deaths and it was obvious they weren't going to kill them all off like that, even before Y'stola basically confirmed it. That being said, one of my reasons for thinking so was wrong, I thought they were going to make another Trusts trial so I was expected them all to come back for the final showdown.

  7. Thancreds inexplicable miracle charge at Meteion saved the universe, its never fully explained how he was able to do it, as what was happening to everyone wasn't a matter of holding your breath, as Meteion had deleted ALL the oxygen in the room, including in everyone's lungs.

  8. Raha is where I completely lost my shit lol I broke so damned hard. I couldn’t even speak at that point. My entire being just shut down. I had to just stop for a while to grieve and process

  9. This game, like many Final Fantasy games, taught me how to stand, to fight, and how to move forward. To fight your suffering, your sorrow. To understand that in these things, there is life and that strengthens you.

  10. Right before the G'raha scene my wife heard me sobbing and she was like "Are you OK?" And I replied, sobbing, "No!"

Then she asked "How many quests left?" And I said "Hopefully one! I hope it's not three!"

Later after she got to the same spot in the story I told her "this is when you asked me if I was OK" and she was sobbing and said "Oh, I get it now".

  11. For future reference, if you ever accidentally skip a quest cutscene like that, you can immediately abandon the quest and pick it back up. You'll have to redo the rest of the quest too of course, but better that than miss it. 😛

I've done that before when I accidentally skipped one, and so long as you don't actually complete the quest the cutscene was part of, it should work?

  12. I might have been one of the few that didn't cry at graha going. Mainly I went into the last zone going who's gonna die, who's had a resolved story. Estinien, was at a done point to me, thancred had finished things last expansion, yshtola has been on borrowed time for two expansions. Graha though, that made me stop and look at it like oh, yeah they're all coming back, none of them are dead.

So yeah graha didn't make me ugly cry it made me hit the copium and call bs

  13. after estinien disappeared, i had to take a break from msq for a week. i could see the trend of scions disappearing and needed some time to prepare before seeing the rest of them disappear. i cried for basically al of them, but i think the twins got me the most. they've been there since that very first carriage ride and have grown so much alongside us. they're basically my children, i literally said "i'll adopt you" wen Fourchenolt disowned them.
